As a lawyer, expensive watches and cars look cool, but they are materialistic flexes. You know what the real flex is ?

1. The real flex is arguing with ease in court after surviving years of drafting, rejection, and unpaid internships.

2. The real flex is giving confident legal advice after years of second-guessing every email draft.

3. The real flex is billing with authority after spending years doing free research for seniors who barely remembered your name.

4. The real flex is enjoying weekends off after surviving the “There’s no concept of work-life balance in litigation” phase.

5. The real flex is making court arguments look effortless after silently crying in washrooms post client scoldings.

6. The real flex is having juniors of your own after years of being the one carrying briefcases and waiting outside courtrooms.

7. The real flex is quoting your fee without flinching after years of being told “isse toh exposure mil raha hai.”

8. The real flex is choosing your clients after spending years begging for any briefing at all.

9. The real flex is walking into court with calm confidence after nights spent memorizing case law out of fear.

10. The real flex is saying “I’ll get back to you” to a client… after surviving the phase where you jumped at every WhatsApp ping.

पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री वी पी सिंह का आज जन्मदिन था , २५ जून को इमरजेन्सी की चर्चा होती है .. 27 नवंबर , 2008 को उनका निधन हुआ .. तब मुंबई के आतंकी हमलों का दूसरा दिन था , तब भी उनकी कोई चर्चा न हुई.. न अब होती है .. जिस मंडल आयोग की सिफारिशों को उन्होने लागू किया और उसके बाद देश में मंडल , कमंडल की राजनीति शुरू हुई .. उस मंडल राजनीति से जो लोग सत्ता के शीर्ष पर पहुंचे , उन्होने भी उन्हे याद नहीं किया , और जो कमंडल की राजनीति करने वाले रोज कांग्रेस को पानी पी पी के गाली देते हैं कि कांग्रेस ने मंडल आयोग को सिफारिशों को दबा दिया, वो भी भूल गए .. बीजेपी वाले ये क्रेडिट तो लेते हैं कि उन्होने जिस सरकार को समर्थन दिया उसने सिफारिशें लागू कीं , उनके सबसे बडे नेता से लेकर छोटे कार्यकर्ता भी वीपी सिंह को भूल गए .. पिछड़ों के लिए जातिगत जनगणना कराने की मांग करने वाले कांग्रेसी तो क्या ही याद करेंगे .. दरअसल वीपी सिंह के नाम पर कोई वोट नहीं.. जीते जी सिर्फ राम विलास पासवान ने वीपी सिंह को हमेशा तवज्जो दी ,, लेकिन उनके सियासी उत्तराधिकारी चिराग़ के भी सोशल मीडिया अकाउंट को हमवे खंगाला , वो भी, मेरे देखने में भूल गए .. इसीलिए मुझे एक बड़े नेता की बात याद आती है .. धर्म और जाति , परिवार हिन्दुस्तान की कडवी हकीकत है.. इससे परे जाओगे तो कोई याद नहीं करेगा ..इसलिए वीपी सिंह एक नसीहत के तौर पर ही .. याद रखे जाने योग्य हैं ..उनके जन्मदिन पर मेरा नमन 🙏

I understand the ED summons against Senior Advocate Arvind Datar has been withdrawn after public outrage. We can’t simply go about business like as if nothing has happened. ED must apologise to Datar and suspend the officer and proceed departmentally against him!

Arvind Datar is the country’s most respected Tax Lawyer and he, like Nani on whom he wrote that wonderful book, is also a constitutional law jurist! Has the ED completely lost it that it has issued summons to him for an opinion he had given to an entity facing investigation? If senior counsels start getting ED notices for legal opinions can you imagine where we have arrived as a nation? The SC should take suo moto notice of this lunacy!

@MamtaTripathi80 @myogiadityanath स्वाति जी के लेटर हेड पर अभियंताओं को चिट्ठी लिखी गयी थी सड़क बनाने के लिए जो कल्ली पश्चिम नहर (रायबरेली रोड) पाट कर ओमैक्स बना रहा था. 2019 का मामला है. उस वक्त मै हाई कोर्ट मे इंटर्न था.
तत्कालीन सिचाई/जल शक्ति मंत्री को भी सरकार के बचाव मे सक्रिय होना पड़ा था.
