In today’s Wumao Soup, we’ll talk about Taiwan, the sovereign country the Chinese Communist Party insists is not a country, but constantly threatens to invade just like a country, while the “antiwar” crowd is eagerly encouraging them to start that war, endangering millions.

@Ayjchan Thank you, I had to break into the Intercept article and then finally tracked it down: https://t.co/VI5W5K3k6x
So it was in the news, but mostly (only) Mandarin, and didn't seem to get widely picked up, so I missed it. People trust the CDC I guess!
@Ayjchan Hmm, the referenced tweet doesn't say anything about her being quarantined in *Taiwan* specifically, and no information about it locally, so it seems incorrect. I wish she was though! Our CDC is quite solid.
Actually there are a lot of lies told about Tiananmen. The student activists themselves say there were no students killed at the square. As for what happened off the square, seems to be a riot suppression rather than slaughter.
Since then, there hasn’t been another Tienanmen so maybe foreigners should move on to other material?
@politicalmath The cities are still being bombed and civilians indiscriminately killed, but at the front Ukrainian drones control the skies for miles, and it's raining oil at the ruZZian black sea resorts and refineries are blowing up in the Urals. May 9 parade in moskau should be amazing.
🇹🇼🇺🇦 Taiwan has delivered an extraordinary show of support — 68 emergency vehicles for Ukraine!
It's the largest transfer of its kind in Lviv’s history.
They’ll be headed to frontline communities like Kharkiv, Kupiansk, and beyond, where help is needed most.
These are the vehicles that arrive first when every minute counts — and thanks to Taiwan, more Ukrainian lives can be saved.
Every day, I write the same story: Russian strikes claiming lives. One person here, five there, a child, a grandparent... These tragedies have become so routine that the world is growing numb.
Even as I try to share what’s happening in Kharkiv, I have to fight the algorithms. I have to get creative with my phrasing because the app flags "explosions in Kharkiv" as spam because of how often i post this same thing.
Don't let our reality become background noise or a "show" you've grown tired of. Please help us amplify the truth. Every life taken was important and irreplaceable. These are not just statistics; they are unspeakable crimes.
@RobboLaw And if they were not "US supported"? Guess what, they would still be there! It's like saying if the Union was not supported by the Irish free soldiers they would have gone home and handed the victory to the Confederacy.
@RobboLaw You throw around "US supported" like a fucking get out of jail free card. Guess what? Yanyk was "ruZZia supported" 🤦 so where does that leave us now? Smh
@RobboLaw Also, positing that "Taiwan should not become Ukraine" when the only chance that could happen is if China launched a murderous war of indiscriminate destruction and conquest against them just for trying to be Taiwan is not exactly the dunk you imagine it to be!
@RobboLaw Democratically elected in 2010, and legislatively unelected in 2014, after he fled the country when massacring protesters in Maidan turned out not to be a great idea. Do you think people who risked death there were there because of the "CIA"? Should "CIA" have helped clear them?
@timand2037 People framing Taiwan in terms of "US hegemony" and dragging in Ukraine to boot are either evil or retarded. Which one are you?
Ukrainians (and many Taiwanese if you care to ask them) simply want to be free and decide their own fate. That's it.
