Kenya is not America. Edwin Sifuna is not Barack Obama. And William Ruto is not a politician who underestimates his opponents.
Stop forcing the Obama story into Kenyan politics. The two countries don't play by the same political rules.
In Kenya, power is fought for with strategy, alliances, influence, and political calculations. Anyone with presidential ambitions can become the target of competing interests seeking to shape the opposition to their advantage.
Before celebrating every call for Sifuna to go it alone, ask yourself one question: who benefits if the opposition ends up divided?
Politics rewards those who see beyond applause and ambition.
@Art0fThinking To always have a good, wholesome meal ready on time no matter the circumstances of life happening at the moment. I don't think in my life since then I and my family ever missed a meal.
@Art0fThinking The love of reading. My father use to read novels and newspapers.
He bought me lots of encyclopedias and novels to read. My mastery of the English Language comes from this early exposure to reading.
13/ This brings me to the most important point in this entire thread.
The earlier you take this cover, the cheaper it is. Premiums are calculated based on your age and health at the time of application.
A 28-year-old taking a KES 9M policy pays considerably less per month than a 42-year-old buying the same cover.
Every year you delay: → Your monthly premiums go up → Your risk of a health condition that affects eligibility increases → Your family spends another year completely exposed
There is no perfect time to get life insurance. The right time is always now — while you are young, healthy, and the premiums are still affordable.
There is a pattern in how people describe what they are looking for in a relationship that reveals what they have been denied rather than what they actually require.
The person who says they want someone honest above everything else has usually been lied to in a way that was specifically damaging. The one that prioritized stability has usually lived through a period of significant instability. The person that leads with emotional availability as the primary requirement has usually spent considerable time with someone who was not.
The list of requirements is a map of previous damage as much as it is a picture of genuine desire. Both are real and worth examining separately: what the damage produced as requirements and what would actually be nourishing independently of the damage.
Most people have never been loved. They have been needed. They have been selected for what they remove from someone else’s loneliness. They called it love because it arrived with warmth, and warmth was rare enough to feel like enough.
Real love is not the removal of your loneliness. It is the willingness to remain when you have nothing left to offer.
Most people perform love the way they perform everything else. Correctly enough to avoid losing it. They say the right things and demonstrate the right gestures, but they have not learned to love someone. They have learned to perform love well enough that the other person stops looking for the real thing.
The person who stays without needing to manage you, without the quiet insurance of your dependence. That person is not common, because that kind of love requires a person to have already made peace with their own solitude.
Most people have not. They love from need, and call it devotion.
You have not failed at love. You have been practicing it with people who were practicing something else entirely.
Depression is not proof that you are weak,
it is proof that you have carried more
than anyone ever saw.
It is the body’s whisper
after too many seasons of silence,
the soul’s demand
to stop pretending everything is fine.
Do not mistake the darkness for your ending.
Sit with it.
Listen.
There is a message in the ache,
and when you rise,
you will rise with a truth
that can never be taken from you.

Some environments do not challenge you.
They corrode you.
People stay too long in places that starve them because they confuse endurance with virtue. They keep pouring themselves into rooms, roles, and people that only know how to extract. Then they call their exhaustion a personal failure, as if something beautiful is supposed to thrive while being quietly poisoned every day.
Leaving is not always escape.
Sometimes it is the first intelligent act of self-respect, because not everything is meant to be healed from within. Some things are only survived by departure.

What drains your life is not your assignment. It is your warning.
@Art0fThinking My mother. I have wondered about who mother was as a person not as my mother.
Her dreams, hopes, fears. What she wished for and her regrets towards the end of her life.
My mother passed on two years ago and there is not a day I don't think about her.
@wiseconnector Yes, I would. I would be proud of my resilience, my strength to carry matters to their logic conclusion, my pride in never giving up and my perpetual optimism. I would love me.
