@Veigar_v2 Imo strong chess players can do what everyone else does, but they just do it better. It sounds mundane, but there is no magic sauce.
The most important skills I’d say are the ability to calculate different variations accurately and to evaluate the resulting positions correctly.

What helped me was learning to separate the result from how I played.
One mistake especially in chess doesn’t define your overall competence or skill
