Today on the floor of the House of Representatives, I moved a Motion of Urgent Public Importance calling for immediate Federal Government intervention following the devastating flood and erosion that recently affected communities across Ile-Oluji, Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency.
The torrential rainfall recorded between July 8 and 12, 2026, left a trail of destruction displacing families, destroying homes, washing away farmlands, damaging roads and drainage infrastructure, and disrupting the livelihoods of countless residents. The suffering of our people demands urgent action, and I remain committed to ensuring that their voices are heard at the national level.
I am pleased that the House unanimously adopted the motion and resolved to urge the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to provide immediate relief materials, temporary shelters, medical care, psychosocial support and rehabilitation for affected residents. The House also called on the Federal Ministries of Works, Water Resources and Sanitation, and other relevant agencies to rehabilitate drainage systems, desilt waterways, and implement lasting flood control infrastructure across our constituency In addition, the House directed the immediate dredging of River Olore to improve the free flow of stormwater and reduce the recurring incidence of flooding in our communities.
I sincerely appreciate the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON, for his leadership and for commending the motion, as well as my distinguished colleagues for their overwhelming support. I assure the good people of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency that I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the implementation of these resolutions and pursue every necessary intervention to safeguard lives, protect livelihoods, and promote the sustainable development of our communities.

@Sterling_Bankng@Sterling_Bankng And for how long will I wait before your Akure branch settles an issue on my account all because I opened it in Abuja?
Your bank has caused me a serious damage.
@Sterling_Bankng The worst banking experience I ever had was with your bank.
How do you spend much time clearing the restriction you placed on my account?
Even to deposit into my personal account isn't possible, how useless can that be?
How does it sound to parents whose hope of becoming something better is all in their children, Many nights of hunger, working hard in downpours and sun to give themselves a better retirement?
