Fmr Special Assistant on Media and Digital Comms to Ondo State Gov.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting the Ondo State School for the Visually Impaired, Owo, where I interacted with the students and dedicated members of staff of the institution.
It was both inspiring and heartwarming to witness the resilience, talent and determination of these exceptional children. Their abilities and aspirations remind us that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, irrespective of challenges.
As someone deeply passionate about skills acquisition and empowerment, I am pleased to announce my decision, in my private capacity, to fully sponsor the establishment of a Music Department in the school. I believe that equipping these students with musical and vocational skills will not only nurture their talents but also strengthen their confidence and prepare them for a future of self-reliance and meaningful contributions to society.
I also commend the management of the school for maintaining a clean and conducive learning environment despite existing challenges. I appreciate the efforts of our Governor, His Excellency @LuckyAiyedatiwa, for the timely release of grants which continue to support the effective running of the institution.
The future of our children remains a shared responsibility, and I remain committed to supporting initiatives that create opportunities and improve their welfare.
Right step in the right direction @officialABAT👏👏👏
Decentralization of our security architecture is the irreducible minimum imperative in our battle against insecurity!
As we begin the 65th anniversary of our nation’s independence, I had the honour of representing my principal, Governor @LuckyAiyedatiwa, at the special Juma’at service held at the Akure Central Mosque today.
@adeyanjudeji Interestingly, the ordinary Nigerian, who is apolitical doesn't care so much about local elections. It gets worse with off-cycle elections. You need a solid structure, sometimes with state backing, and/or a popular candidate with capacity to mobilize to win by-elections.
Today, May 27, is designated Children’s Day in Nigeria. As I ponder over the significance of this day, the admonition of the great Chilean Poet and Nobel laureate, Lucila Godoy Alcayaga, (pseudonym, Gabriela Mistral) in her famous poem, His Name is TODAY; flashed through my mind.
I reproduce same below for the (renewed) attention of my country’s nay, my continent’s elected, elites and elders..
“We are guilty of many errors and many faults, but our worst crime is abandoning the children, neglecting the fountain of life. Many of the things we need can wait. The child cannot. Right now is the time his bones are being formed, his blood is being made, and his senses are being developed. To him we cannot answer ‘Tomorrow,’ his name is TODAY”.
Happy #ChildrensDay
@nard_nigeria@pastorpoju While @pastorpoju may have underestimated the average cost of medical training in Nigeria, your analysis is also very incorrect. No Nigerian university trains med. doctors for USD51k (₦81m). His points are clearly understood - Our system isn't as finished as we make it seem.
The news of the demise of Hon. Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi, popularly called Tuykana, came to me as a rude shock.
Hon. Oluwatuyi, my dear brother, who I used to call 'the homeboy', was an SSG with class, a rare breed of politician — very accommodating, calm, intelligent...
