Your CAC status matters more than you think.
Many company owners assume that once their company is registered, there’s nothing else to worry about which is very wrong and detrimental to the future of your company.
When a company fails to meet certain ongoing compliance requirements, its status on the CAC portal may become Inactive.
An inactive status can:
• Raise concerns during due diligence by investors, banks, or potential partners.
• Signal that the company needs to address outstanding compliance matters.
• Delay business transactions until the company’s records are brought up to date.
A registered company should also be a compliant company.
Before you submit your business name for registration, do this first.
Don’t get attached to just one name.
There’s a chance your preferred name may already be unavailable or too similar to an existing one.
A simple way to avoid delays is to prepare at least 2–3 alternative names that fit your brand. You have to be capable of planning ahead as a smart entrepreneur

One mistake many entrepreneurs make is assuming that every business should be registered as a Limited Company.
That’s not always true.
The right business structure depends on factors like:
• Your business goals.
• Whether you’re starting alone or with partners.
• Your growth plans.
• The level of legal protection you need.
Choosing the right structure from the beginning can save you unnecessary costs and stress later.
If you’ve been in business for over a year and your business is still not properly structured, you’re limiting your own growth.
Many entrepreneurs spend thousands on phones, laptops and ads, but keep postponing the foundation of their business.
Priorities matter.
MYTH: Once you register your business, that’s all you ever need to do.
FACT: Registering your business is just the beginning.
As your business grows, there may be ongoing compliance responsibilities and important updates to keep your records accurate and your business in good standing.
Too many entrepreneurs focus on getting the certificate and forget about maintaining the business properly.
