Air Peace flight to London: don’t twist history.

1: Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA): it is an air service agreement between countries that outlines the terms and conditions for International Air Services.

2: Before any AIRLINE, I repeat AIRLINE such as @flyairpeace can OPERATE International Services to another country, THE GOVERNMENT must FIRST NEGOTIATE a treaty level agreement with the destination country’s government.

3: 8th Nov 2011, FG/UK BASA Dispute manifested when Nigerians complained about the poor treatment of Nigerians by British Airways.

4: Note that Air Peace was founded in 2013. So, we had issues with UK as per enforcement of BASA.

5: Before any airline can travel abroad, a letter of approval will be issued by the Hon.Minister of @fmaviationng via Director of Air Transport Management.

6: the push for @flyairpeace started from the decision of the President, FG not Buhari to support Air peace 100% to secure HEATHROW airports. It took UK 7years to audit air peace with delayed tactics.

7: Nigeria signed a BASA agreement in 1988 that designated Nigerian Airlines to fly to London without specifying an airport.

8: In 2011, past FG not GEJ caused a diplomatic spat when Arik Airline was unable to get slots at Heathrow. Arik was able to get this slot till 2017 before running into financial crisis.

9: Following up the discussion that past FG not Buhari started, the present FG not Tinubu via @fkeyamo visited UK Department of Transport to review the earlier decision to enable Air Peace obtained a favorable slot allocation instead of AD HOC SLOTS. You can imagine what UK is treating us since 1960s.

10: FG not Tinubu resolved this issue and no more AD HOC SLOTS.

11: it is also important that FG not Tinubu should ban public officials from flying other airlines to London except Air Peace.

13: The biggest appreciation should go to @MBuhari @hadisirika for fighting this battle.
