I can't say I'm exactly surprised by this. Roblox has been making bad decision after bad decision as of late. This is yet another one of Roblox's huge money makers being killed off for reasons I can't begin to comprehend. Once more, what does Roblox stem to gain from this???

Roblox will no longer allow games to sell gamepasses from other games starting from May 29th.

As a mandatory replacement, Roblox is introducing the Transfers API. You must be age-checked or have a linked parental account to either receive or send Robux. Any Robux will immediately be received upon you accepting the Robux. You will receive 90% of the Robux, instead of the previous 60%; however, 10% still goes to the game's creator. To send Robux, you must be subscribed to Roblox Plus. Roblox currently only allows a 1,000 Robux maximum to be sent per month.

You will not be able to cancel any transfer. Additionally, you can transfer Robux on the "Buy Robux" page or by donating it to a user's page.

If you are under the age of 18, your parent must approve each transfer request. Any request not accepted within a week will be sent back to the person who initially sent it.

Any Robux earned from transfers are not DevEx-able.

What are we hoping to achieve with this? Most of the big money makers on Roblox are R6, with a few exceptions being R15. Why are we effectively neutering the income of R6 devs for another pointless push of Roblox’s inferior design?

Starting June 8, 2026, Roblox will be increasing the DevEx rate by 42% for eligible games that have players over 18 years old spending Robux. To be eligible, games should use R15 avatars.

New Roblox update is a double edged sword lowk.

It cuts out a lot of the slop games that have been mass produced on the platform.

However it just guts anyone who doesn’t have a lot of funding for making their own game, or people who are making games with no monetization.
