This thread started as fake speaker accounts at DevTernity and JDKon.
It ends with what is very likely a catfishing Instagram account operated for 5 years: Coding Unicorn. Growing it to 115K Insta followers to promote the conference.
Shameful.

I have been amazed how much progress there has been with CSS libraries. Now it's easy to write zero runtime CSS with #vanillaextract or use skip styles by using utility classes from #TailwindCSS. These inspired me to write about the most usual approaches.

@EevisPanula Thanks very much for sharing your journey. The seriousness of burnout and the effort it takes to recover are hard to understand without brave people sharing their experiences (or experiencing it).
I've now been asked multiple times for my take on Elon's offer for Twitter.
So fine, this is what I think about that. I will assume the takeover succeeds, and he takes Twitter private. (I have little knowledge/insight into how actual takeover battles work or play out)

I very much like that @stitchesjs and vanilla-extract makes dynamic styles more complex to write. Like 75% of the times I passed a variable to the styled-components, it could have been purely with CSS.

During the past year, I have had many discussions regarding refinement and how developers can contribute. Here are the key learning that I have gotten.

Software development is not just writing code, it's far more than that. I wrote an article about my thoughts on what kind of skills a good developer has. #SoftwareEngineer

Idk who needs to hear this but passing down state in React from a parent to a child component isn't prop drilling. If you've dumped your entire app data into Redux just to avoid sharing local state, your application probably has bigger problems than prop drilling.

So... I've spent much of the last 9 months working with a smart bunch of engineers designing a new date/time API for JavaScript. A big milestone: the TC39 standards body just gave the 👍 for browsers to implement this API. If all goes well, it'll be in browsers & Node.js in 2022!
