@Christo08487755@darrenrovell Specifically, I was thinking about the eastern European and Russian markets, where tennis is huge, and the Asian markets, where it is growing fast.
@Christo08487755@darrenrovell That would gut the American ratings. Late starts give them the best min/max, and a better gate, since New Yorkers apparently like the late matches.
Power. Post- war prosperity was creating a nearly universal center right middle class in the west, so the only path to revolution was to import a third world proletariat that would be permanently and categorically alienated from the traditional societies. They saw themselves as the vanguard class that would continue to hold power as the mediator between the various hostile blocs.
@curtis_yarvin@logisti00 Envision an alternate timeline, where Flock cameras were concentrated in “high crime” neighborhoods and used to track the movements and restrict the activities of various species of undesirables, rather than as a red light revenue generator.
@stevendeknight Daredevil season 1 was hands down the best thing ever put out under the Marvel brand, and in no small measure that was due to the performance of Deborah Ann Woll. She stole every scene she was in. An acting master class.
@aimeeterese Tbf, a lot of men use words this way, too. It’s just that in Man World, eventually the rubber meets the road and words have to mean something. Women usually can get away with abstraction for far longer.
@aimeeterese Men appreciate hierarchy. We will follow an obviously superior man, and hope that some of it rubs off on us. Women will follow a superior female for only so long as it takes to tear her down.
I think you are onto something here. Undisciplined empathy leads to contradiction, which leads to dissolution. Only rigidly enforced systems- moral, religious, political, ethnic- prevent empathic corruption. It is not that empathy is bad, per se, as it is useful in managing social relations, but it must be grounded in and limited by objectively applied principles and standards to resist entropy.
Empirically, women are much more systemically subjective, on average.
@Babygravy9 This was the show’s high water mark. It was never this good again. The problem was after this, there was nothing left to be said. Final solution. Done. All that’s left is Rick angst about this moment, for years.
Now I think you’re just trolling. it is not “low IQ“ to be concerned about water and electricity usage, noise pollution and tax impacts, even if the potential good from data centers mostly outweighs the bad.
Populism never rules, in and of itself, but rulers always make use of it- at least the smart ones do.
@unburdenedjello@Targ_Loyalist Apparently, no female character in the show is allowed to be explicitly evil (except maybe for the only really pretty one, Jeyne Arryn). In the book, Mysaria was clearly malevolent, as was Rhaenyra, truthfully. These showrunners probably thought that portrayal was “misogynist”.
