MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE has crossed the $110M mark worldwide after FOUR weekends.
Having cost $200M + $100M in marketing, it’ll cause Amazon MGM a loss of over $150M, the biggest bomb of the year.

I was really into #TheDeathOfRobinHood. This engrossing take on a folklore tale serves as both a brutally violent thriller and a meditation on forgiveness, death, and legacy. Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, and Murray Bartlett are all terrific. Michael Sarnoski is 3 for 3 in my book.
@jeffwp11@AndrewJ626 I think it says more about the buzz not being there vs. being drowned out by other movies (which is typically less of an issue during the summer). THE FLASH had a similar problem, even if for different reasons.
@jeffwp11@AndrewJ626 I mean SUPERMAN did really well last year. I figured the marketing was clear that this was an extension of that universe. Although even then, those who saw SUPERMAN would know that given the ending.
@jeffwp11@AndrewJ626 On top of this, SUPERGIRL is based on an even popular established IP. And I don’t get what’s confusing another a movie about Supergirl, especially coming off a movie about Superman last year. https://t.co/2HwmkQP1e3
@bob_noss@AndrewJ626 Not so heavy that I’d consider them direct competition with animated family films. Superhero movies still rely more on teens and young adults.

@firstshowing@EDouglasWW I mean the last one opened to $23 million in February 2022 when Covid was still seen as a hindrance. I thought for sure that this being labeled as the official last one, coming out in a healthier theatrical landscape, and opening in summer meant that it would do much better.
If #JackassBestAndLast truly is the end of the road, I’m satisfied. While it can feel like a clip show given how much old footage is used, it still made my cheeks hurt from laughter. These stunts may be stupid, but they also reflect the beauty of having fun. I’ll miss these guys.
