@Richard62164308@data_atx the dsa is the democratic socialists of america. "these kinds of trips" are inherently political and inherently harmful to the city: waste of money, source of harmful policies, and networking for bad people who don't need to have any power anywhere
@MysticTravel5@PeterDiamandis value is subjective. in order for something to have value, someone must want it. in a world of abundance, people will still need food and shelter, crave novelty and status, and seek meaning and adventure.
obviously.
@Benjami32975467@wylfcen I'm not saying high schoolers should be taught how to program in assembly or do relativity equations. but all adults should have a basic understanding of the world they live in, including these topics
@Benjami32975467@wylfcen I took two years of java in high school and we certainly covered the history of computing, including assembly. I understood the basics of relativity by middle school, and there's no reason for language classes not to briefly cover origins & development
@Benjami32975467@wylfcen everyone who's graduated high school should have a grasp of the basic ideas of general relativity, understand what assembly is, and know the important parts of english's family tree

"people" fits into iambic pentameter fine, but because the first syllable is stressed, it *technically* ought to span two feet if you're following the meter strictly
