PETRONAS-owned Setel Ventures and Standard Chartered have been fined by Bank Negara for breaching targeted financial sanctions requirements.

Cabin crew told me that there are always more wheelchairs on flights going to and from India and others carrying large amounts of Indians (think Toronto to London to take a connecting flight from London to India) than other flights.

It’s because Indians like the extra service and attention it gives them. It’s a product of Indian culture and the caste system. Indian flights are notoriously challenging for Western cabin crew (or indeed any non-Indian crew) because the customers are so demanding and, frankly, treat the staff terribly.

Other flights to completely unrelated destinations are routinely delayed due to Indians occupying all of the wheelchairs at airports. If there is no wheelchair available for a genuinely disabled person when their flight arrives, it delays the unloading of that flight and makes that plane’s next journey delayed as well.

Basically, Indian culture is causing severe delays around the world. As India becomes wealthier and more Indians can afford to travel, this problem is only going to get worse unless airports start refusing to let non-disabled people use wheelchairs.

The Cabinet has approved the declassification of the RCI report on Tabung Haji, with the findings to be made public and tabled at a special Dewan Rakyat sitting.

The report examines TH's management between 2014 and 2020, including the transfer of underperforming assets to a special purpose vehicle, government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said.

The RCI into Tabung Haji found that it paid tens of millions of ringgit in staff bonuses between 2010 and 2017, ranging from two to 13 months' salary, despite facing financial difficulties.

The report stated that TH should have recorded a net loss of RM1.4 billion in 2017 instead of a profit of RM3.4 billion in its financial statements.

Many people don’t realize what a “Stacked Pension” actually means.

When a regular civil servant like a nurse or teacher retires after 30 years, they receive only one consolidated pension.

But for politicians, the laws allow them to stack multiple pensions simultaneously for the different roles throughout their careers, despite serving just one term

For example:

• Lim Guan Eng: Eligible for 4 pensions (MP + Cabinet Minister + ADUN + Chief Minister)

• Hannah Yeoh: Eligible for 4 pensions (MP + Cabinet Minister + ADUN + State Speaker)
