The numbers in the first column to the left are given. What changes is the multiplier which is an arithmetic progression from 10 downwards. The last shown is 7. Hence the next is 6. Therefore 3 multiplied by 6 is 18.
@akol_lam Each number on the left is multiplied by the number one less than itself:
- \(9 \times 10 = 90\)
- \(8 \times 9 = 72\)
- \(7 \times 8 = 56\)
- \(6 \times 7 = 42\)
Following this pattern:
- \(3 \times 4 = 12\)
Answer 12
@ngorminister You are wrong because there is no indication in the 1st column that there were numbers between 6 and 3. Where did you get 5 and 4 from? It is not an arithmetic progression but just a list of numbers.
@akol_lam You are actually wrong Dr. Lam, the answer is 12 not 18.
Sequence is
9*10 = 90
8*9 = 72
7*8 = 56
6*7 = 42
5*6 = 30
4*5 = 20
3*4= 12
I believe 12 is the answer according to that sequence.
I am saddened by the news of the passing on of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. South Sudanese will remember her for unwavering support to their struggle. Among her many contributions, she sponsored the Sudan Peace Act, a precursor to the CPA 2005. RIP.
My heartfelt condolences to Cde Yasir Saeed Arman for the untimely passing of his dear mother. May the Almighty rest her soul in eternal peace and grant him and the whole family strength to withstand the shock of the big loss.
Hats off on this historic occasion when the tinder box of the revolutionary situation that had matured in Southern Sudan was ignited. Kerubino in Bor, Riek Macuoc in Pibor and your comrades in arms will be remembered for their courage and patriotism.
On #Newsday just now: #SouthSudan's acting foreign minister Deng Dau Deng reacts strongly to UN's decision to extend sanctions, and accuses US of wanting regime change in his country.
