WASIYYAH AFTER MY DEATH

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner, and that Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and Messenger.

If I die, I ask my family and those responsible for me to fear Allah and follow the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah in everything concerning my death and burial.

Please hasten my preparation and burial according to the Sunnah. Wash, shroud, pray over, and bury me without unnecessary delay and without extravagance.

Do not wail, slap yourselves, tear your clothes, or engage in any forbidden mourning practices. Be patient and seek reward from Allah.

Settle my debts and return any trusts or rights belonging to others from my estate. Then distribute my remaining inheritance according to the laws of Islamic inheritance.

Do not organise religious gatherings specifically on the 3rd, 7th, 40th day, or anniversary of my death as a religious practice, and do not spend my wealth on such customs.

Make sincere du‘ā for me and give charity on my behalf if you wish. Ask Allah to forgive me, have mercy upon me, make my grave spacious and illuminated, and grant me steadfastness.

I ask Allah to make my final words the testimony of Tawheed, forgive my shortcomings, accept my righteous deeds, and grant me Jannatul Firdaus.

May Allah keep us firm upon Tawheed and the authentic Sunnah until we meet Him.

AFTER 17 YEARS… THE LINE RUNS AGAIN.
25/08/2026 Yesterday marked a significant milestone in the journey to bring Okin Biscuits back.
For the first time in 17 years, biscuits rolled off one of our rehabilitated production lines at the factory in Offa. We had to rebuild the line after having all cables, frequency drives, contactors, motors and other electronic components stolen
This was a technical TRIAL RUN - NOT a product trial. At this stage, we were not concerned about colour, appearance or achieving the final Okin recipe. The objective was simple: Can we bring this line, silent for 17 years, back to life? And we did !
And there was another major milestone: IBEDC officially connected the factory to a 33Kva Band A electricity grid today.
There is still work ahead. More testing. More calibration. More rehabilitation. And, of course, getting that familiar Okin taste and quality exactly right before the biscuits return to the market.
But today, we celebrate progress.
The machines are turning.
The ovens are firing.
The biscuits are beginning to roll out again.
One step at a time. Okin is coming back.

Day 10 — What Christians Should Understand About Islam

Nigeria’s religious harmony will improve when we learn about one another from reliable sources rather than from stereotypes, isolated incidents, extremist behaviour, or inflammatory social-media content. For Christians seeking to understand their Muslim neighbours, an important starting point is this: Islam should be judged by its recognised teachings, not by every action committed by someone who bears a Muslim name.

Muslims worship the One God and believe in a long succession of prophets, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, peace be upon them all. Jesus occupies an honoured position in Islam: Muslims believe in his miraculous birth, recognise him as the Messiah and a mighty Messenger of God, and revere his mother, Mary. Yet Muslims and Christians have important theological disagreements concerning his nature and status. Acknowledging these differences clearly is healthier than pretending they do not exist. Mutual respect does not require theological agreement.

Christians should also understand that concepts such as Sharīʿah, jihād, daʿwah, and the Muslim community are broader and more nuanced than the meanings sometimes assigned to them in popular discourse. Sharīʿah is not simply a collection of punishments; it encompasses worship, family life, ethics, transactions, justice, compassion, and personal conduct. Jihād cannot responsibly be reduced to terrorism, just as Christianity cannot fairly be defined by atrocities committed by people claiming Christian justification.

Islam also establishes principles for living justly with people of other faiths. The Qurʾān states that Allah does not forbid Muslims from showing kindness and justice towards those who neither fight them because of religion nor drive them from their homes (Qurʾān 60:8). It also commands Muslims to engage the People of the Book in the best manner, while maintaining their religious convictions (Qurʾān 29:46).

None of this means that Muslims always live up to Islamic teachings. We do not. Muslim societies have their failures, injustices, extremists, and internal disagreements, just as other religious communities do. When Muslims commit wrongdoing, they should be held accountable. But wrongdoing should be attributed accurately rather than automatically transformed into a definition of Islam itself.

For Christians in Nigeria, understanding Islam does not require accepting Islam. It requires listening before judging, distinguishing scripture from stereotype, scholarship from extremism, and the conduct of individual Muslims from the teachings they claim to represent. Muslims owe Christians precisely the same intellectual fairness.

We can disagree profoundly about faith and still refuse to misrepresent one another. A peaceful Nigeria will not be built by eliminating religious differences, but by developing citizens who are confident enough in their own convictions to understand their neighbours fairly.

Understanding is not conversion. Fairness is not compromise. And knowing your neighbour accurately is one of the strongest foundations for peaceful coexistence.

Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today commissioned the Lagos fresh food hub, Pen Cinema Agege, Lagos. This facility sits on a 7,000 sqm of Land.

Some of the functionalities of the Agege Fresh food Hub:

• 4,000 sqm trading floor

• Space for approximately 350 – 400 traders

• 800MT dry storage capacity

• Approximately 300MT cold storage capacity

�� Expanded, purpose-built seafood section

• Parking for approximately 80 – 90 vehicles

• 10 EV charging points

The Agege Fresh food Hub brings farmers, aggregators, bulk dealers, retailers, institutional buyers and consumers into a more organised platform of exchange, supported by systems for produce receiving, quality control, storage, inventory management, sanitation and waste reduction.

This is part of Lagos State's wider hub-and-spoke food distribution network, designed to improve how food moves from producers to the people who consume it.

The Central food security systems and logistics hub, Ketu Ereyun will serve as the major hub supplying the middle level food hubs, while the middle hubs like Agege and Mushin will bring wholesale and retail food distribution closer to communities across Lagos.

I was talking to a 22-year-old young lady today, and I told her that there was a time when plastic was scarce and a luxury in Nigeria.

You would "collect" spankings for breaking a plastic bucket, and most times, we called plastic menders "dike dike" to mend them. Galvanised iron buckets were the norm.
There was a group of people who came around often to exchange plastic buckets for used clothes "par��". It was a standard to reuse plastic spoons.

The influx of cheap polymers made plastic more affordable. She kept staring at me in disbelief. Each generation sees a different version of Nigeria.
