“I hear that former President, His Excellency Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is due to arrive in Rivers State today as the Special Guest of Honour to flag off the construction of the trans-Kalabari road as part of the first anniversary in office of His political grandson, His Excellency Siminalayi Fubara.

This brings to my mind the event of 23rd of October 2014 when the Ijaw woman, then-First Lady, Dame Patience Faka Jonathan visited her then-anointed political son whom she wanted to be governor. She blessed him and advised him not to allow power to intoxicate him to disrespect his elders if he did not want to be disrespected by his younger ones, and at the end, she handed him (Wike) over to Dr Peter Odili. Today, he has fallen out with his political godfather and godmother who made him governor; Sir Odili who helped him to secure the ticket to be Obio/Akpor Chairman for his second tenure, according to his testimony in the past, and Rt Honourable Austin Opara who galvanized the major support for him and was his state agent twice: 2015 and 2019 governorship elections, and his agent at the PDP Presidential Primary Election on 28th May 2022.

Today, the man whom people came together to make is the one who before becoming quiet these few days, bragged of making everyone because he used the position that people elevated him to, to buy forms for everyone in the elected arm of the Rivers State Government so the state has become his private estate that must be governed according to his whims and caprices.

He did not yield the advice of his godmother as he allowed power to intoxicate him and today he is getting his karma from his political godson who has decided to move on without him and holding on to everyone who played a role to see to his (Wike) emergence as governor in 2015, from Their Excellencies Goodluck and Patience Jonathan to Dr. Odili and Rt. Hon. Austin Adele Opara, and others”
