So proud of our team for launching Ona agent today! We built it to be a true background agent. Almost all of my commits are now co-authored by Ona. Try it for yourself—it's so addictive.
Today we're introducing https://t.co/uoamPzsJou, our privacy-first software engineering agent crafted for the enterprise 🌊
Most AI coding tools today prioritize speed over security, assuming where your code runs doesn't matter. But for enterprise software, vibe coding on shared infrastructure doesn't work.

after a year of research, we're introducing Veto today
we think it's the blueprint for security in the next era of software
the adversary can reason now, and our security tools weren't built for that
I'm hiring for senior Go engineers to join us at @ona_hq!
If you are:
- AI native; using tools like Cursor, Claude code and Ona daily.
- Are excited about building AI agents and the mission control platform that they will run on, entirely in Go.
- Have 3-5 years of production Go experience.
- Are based in London (remote Europe available too for exceptional folks).
Then I'd love to have a virtual coffee with you and see if there is a mutual fit here. Drop me a DM.
NOTE: We cannot sponsor visas right now so if you are not already located in Europe then please do not message as there will not be any exceptions.
I'm hiring Go Engineers in London, New York and Munich to help build a SWE agent for Enterprise. Take a look at my comment in this post for more details.
I'd also really appreciate if you could RT it :)

We are no longer using Kubernetes to build Gitpod.
"Kubernetes is the obvious choice building automated and standardized development environments" is something I believed for a long time. Six years later we know better: https://t.co/uA0LmtTPGr
With this move we become more suitable for Kubernetes development than ever. You can now run an entire Kubernetes cluster in your workspace - all because we forgo Kubernetes under the hood.
It took a long time for us to accept that development environments are just very different things compared to production application workloads. Kubernetes isn't built to handle non-predictable workloads.
@rosslarsonWI@gitpod Hi, we are still in early access, some features maybe missing. In this case though devcontainer spec has "portsAttributes" to configure what should happen when port is auto forwarded. You also can configure an automation service to auto start your server.
@Shyim97@jolandgraf It maybe you need to adjust your existing configuration. Gitpod Flex runs dev containers in VM. It does not have dependencies to your local machine. It is important point, since it makes Gitpod Flex environments portable and consistent between local and cloud scenarios.
Gitpod for Mac? You bet!
💪Gitpod Flex allows you to run cloud development environments ON YOUR OWN MACHINE. This is going to unlock a new era of just-get-to-work repo setup without needing external resources.
Congrats to the team on this amazing release! 🍾
@fulldecent@mojombo@gitpod Gitpod Flex runs dev containers in isolated VMs, even locally, to ensure consistency between local and cloud environments. It bundles everything, you don't need any other local tools like Docker Desktop, or even git. On the top environment are programmable via automations.
@rosslarsonWI@gitpod Hi, you will need to migrate your project to dev containers. There is no yet VS Code Browser support yet. You can use editors supporting remote dev over SSH to access Gitpod Flex environments, like VS Code Desktop. It should not be matter which OS your local machine is running.
The very first design decisions we made when building Gitpod Flex was how we'd handle identity and trust across the system. These decisions have proven foundational in building our zero trust architecture for CDEs.
Here's the deep dive:

Yesterday, we signed a seven figure contract, growing our enterprise revenue 10x since last year.
Today, we launch our Act 2: Gitpod Flex. We want to give you all the building blocks to automate your software development lifecycle, starting with development environments.
Here is what you get.
-Automations: programmable tasks and services triggered on events unique to development environments
- Gitpod Desktop: bringing cloud development environments to your laptop, starting with Mac
- Runners: self-host in your cloud in three minutes
- Dev Container: for base images, tools, and extensions
- Zero-trust environments: ‘never trust, always verify’ every actor and service
Try it for free in early access, no waitlist.
