There is ABSOLUTELY NO need to have someone be on #H1B visa after 6 years (which is max validity of H1B, but is circumvented via AC21 to allow infinite renewals)

If someone is already sponsored & approved for an employment based greencard, they have met all the criteria (including labor tests) and vetting. They should just be able to apply for adjustment of status --> get EAD/AP, and wait for greencard to be available. And ideally, this should be without regards to country of origin.

Today again internet services have been suspended for 5 days in Manipur. A horrific video has emerged making a complete mockery of claims of normalcy. But nothing moves or fazes the PM as far as Manipur is concerned. He has simply abandoned the people there.

रावण का बचपन आवारागर्दी में बीता, इसलिए वह पढ़ा लिखा नहीं था. उसकी डिग्री भी फ़र्ज़ी थी.  लेकिन उसे रोज़ नया नारा गढ़ने का  और नया प्रोजेक्ट शुरू करने का बहुत बहुत शौक था. ये अलग बात है कि उनमें से कोई भी प्रोजेक्ट पूरा नहीं हो पाया. गीता प्रेस की कल्याण पत्रिका पढ़ने वालों को याद होगा, कि एक बार उसने स्वर्ग तक सीढ़ी बनाने का प्रोजेक्ट भी शुरू किया था.

रावण की स्मार्ट सिटी लंका में उद्योगपतियों के सोने के महल थे. ख़ुद अपने लिए उसने एक सेंट्रल विस्तृत महल बनवाया था. वह शानदार पुष्पक विमान में फ्लाई करता था. महंगे वस्त्रों और आभूषणों का इस्तेमाल करता था. लेकिन उसके राज में भूखे पेट सोने वाले का प्रतिशत दुनिया के सबसे गरीब देशों से भी ज्यादा था.

कुम्भकर्ण उसका गृह मंत्री था, जो सिर्फ बवाल करने के लिए ही सामने आता था. फिर सो जाता था. चाहे घर की लंका लगी पड़ी हो.

रावण की रोज़ सभा लगती थी, जिसमें कार्पोरेट गीत गाता था. मीडिया बाजा बजाता था.  नौकरशाह और जज नृत्य करते थे. यानी सबका डांस सबका चांस.

रावण  ने अपने नाना, को दादा को, गुरुओं को सबको जेल में डाल रखा था. असल में तब मार्गदर्शक मंडल नहीं होता था.

रावण के दस सर थे.  तो ज़ाहिर है, मुंह भी दस ही रहे होंगे. इन दस मुँहों से वह मुसलसल, मुतवातिर, निरन्तर, धाराप्रवाह झूठ बोलता था.

रावण की लंका में भले लोग डरे हुए और चुपचाप रहते थे. जबकि हत्यारे और बलात्कारी सरेआम नारे लगाते हुए घुमते थे. इनमें से एक नारा था : लंका में यदि रहना होगा - रावण रावण कहना होगा.

रावण के बारे में उसके समर्थक यह प्रचार करते हैं कि बचपन से ही वह बहुत बहादुर था. मगर मच्छ ... मगर मच्छर भी नहीं मार पाता था वह. मारकाट, हत्या, फिरौती, उगाही इत्यादि के लिए उसने एक गृह मंत्री रखा हुआ था.

हर युग का, हर काल का अपना एक रावण होता है.  हमारे दौर का भी एक रावण है. लेकिन इस रावण से मुक्ति दिलाने के लिए अब रामजी मानव रूप धारण नहीं करेंगे. हमें रामजी को अपने हृदय में जगाना होगा. तब कहीं इस रावण से मुक्ति मिलेगी.

Viral Acharya, one of the world's finest financial economists was RBI Deputy Governor during 2017-19, and left office six months before his tenure expired.

He has now devastatingly exposed how the Modi Govt pressurised the RBI to transfer Rs 2-3 lakh crores from its account to the Union government in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

To its everlasting credit, the RBI resisted and set up a Committee to establish a formula for such transfers. In 2022-23 some Rs 87,500 crore was transferred from the RBI to the Union Govt. Acharya may, however, have become the victim for his uncompromising stance.

This is professionalism of the highest order, which hopefully will not be compromised in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
