Vivek Agarwal's father was admitted to MAX Hospital. Seven members of his family were staying at the ill-fated Hotel Flourish Stays, where the fire broke out.

Not a single one of them survived.

Entire family was wiped out because some fire officer allegedly took a bribe to issue a fire clearance, some government babu never checked the building plans, and authorities ignored the illegal restaurant operating in the basement.

Now they will find the owner and put all the blame and act as if they are serious. But they won't allow anyone to talk about the system failure that made this tragedy possible.

Sadly, the news cycle will move on, and so will most people.

ALL NINE COPS TO BE HANGED!!!

In a landmark judgement, the honourable First Additional District and Sessions Judge of Madurai, G Muthukumaran pronounced death penalty for all nine policemen in the Jeyaraj and Beniks custodial torture and death case.

Inspector S Sridhar, sub-inspectors P Ragu Ganesh & K Balakrishnan, head constables S Murugan and A Samidurai and constables M Muthuraja, S Veil Muthu, S Chelladurai & X Thomas Francis have all been found guilty of the double murder.

On 19th June 2020, Jeyaraj went to his son’s mobile shop in at Sathankulam in Thoothukudi. Police arrested him for violating Covid rules.

Following the father’s arrest, Beniks went to the police station and requested for his father’s release. Beniks apparently had an argument with the cops. They arrested him also and tortured him and his father through the night and later sent to judicial remand.

Beniks died at Kovilapatti Government Hospital on 22nd June, 2020, and Jeyaraj passed away the next day.

The investigation later revealed that the mobile shop wasn’t open beyond the permissible hours. Basically a false case was slapped.

Later, a female constable, Revathi came forward to tell the truth of their torture. Not only were the son & the father beaten brutally throughout the night but were also made to clean up their blood off the police station floor and walls with their clothes.

Beniks sustained 13 external injuries and Jeyaraj had 17 wounds that ultimately led to their deaths. They were bleeding from their rectums when they were sent to jail!!!

Following a huge social media uproar and protests, there was pressure on the then Tamil Nadu government to conduct a fair investigation into their deaths.

If you go through the whole case, you will realise that 59 year old Jeyraj and 31 year old Beniks were killed purely because the ego of the policemen was hurt.

They were angry that Beniks questioned why his father was arrested and being beaten up.

Family of the victims hope this will be a lesson to all policemen who think they can get away with any crime.

But unfortunately in our country most police don’t play by the rules. It is either their ego or orders from above or corruption that drives them. Hoping for better policing and a system that stands for victims, especially the voiceless ones.

1. All cabs n few other cars drive at 80 kmph in the outermost lane in 100 kmph zones. Leads to Overtaking compulsorily from the left lane while maintaining. Speed cameras do the rest for you

What I saw on Goan beaches this time was embarrassing to say the least. I usually avoid Baga, Calangute, Anjuna for the same reason, but this time people had flocked further up north. Thanks to the TRAVEL INFLUENZAs, people got there not to explore the so called “hidden” beaches but with all other ill intentions. A guy literally asked me for directions to go to a certain “Russian Beach”. Here are the things that I had to witness (excluding the one with the guy jerking off on the beach looking at people because I had posted about it earlier - still in shock btw)

Group of men, fully dressed up in jeans, shirt, belt and shoes, sitting on the beach, facing not the beach, but the people who were resting on the beach beds.

Asking foreigners for selfies. They weren’t celebrities. They were just people from a different country.

Making disgusting remarks about everyone - women, men, couple on their honeymoon . No one were spared

Taking photos and selfies in a way that slyly captures people at the back.

Letting a kid take a dump on the beach because why walk all the way to the washroom which is 50 mts away.

Leave the empty bottles and food packets on the beach.

Play music on the loudspeaker. Not on a small portable one. The karaoke boombox thing.

Treating every other street vendor like a pimp or a supplier

Shooting & playing loud music deep in the jungle where people were meditating or were there for bird watching

Dirty the taxi and of course roll down the windows to hang your dirty wet underwear to dry

Crash the rented bikes and park it anywhere because, who cares?

I am not being holier than thou here, but these are some of the basic things you need to take care off when you travel. It’s definitely not a class thing because people who had driven down in their SUVs behaved the same way.

Two boys from Bhayander, Mumbai built a men grooming company called Muuchstac. Sells only one product- face wash. Company makes 80cr in revenue and 30cr profit and no external funding. Don't even have a website and sells only through marketplaces. Godrej bought the company at 450cr. Founders get 15,000 x return. So many opportunities in India to build nice profitable companies. Stop chasing for valuations and start building for profitability. Profit is the only true moat. Everything else is noise.

28 साल की संपदा बहुत मेहनत से पढ़ लिखकर डॉक्टर बनी थी। सब-इंस्पेक्टर गोपाल बदाने एवम दो अन्य लोगों ने पिछले 5 महीनों में संपदा का कई बार रे$प किया और मानसिक उत्पीड़न किया।

दरअसल संपदा से अस्पताल में पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट बदलने और बहुत से गलत काम करने के लिए प्रेशराइज किया जाता था। विरोध करने पर सीनियर डॉक्टर ने संपदा को विभागीय जांच में फंसा दिया।

संपदा ने डीएसपी को पत्र लिखकर आरोपियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की थी, लेकिन उस पर कोई सुनवाई ही नहीं हुई। अंत में जब कहीं से मदद नहीं मिली तो अपनी जीवनलीला समाप्त कर ली।
