some thoughts after the show

I think it’s easy to get carried away talking about fashion and everything it represents. But being there, I understood a little better how something as ‘simple’ as clothes can become a way of creating an image, a feeling, or even a memory. The people, the music, the setting, the conversations — all of it becomes part of the same thing.

Anthony once said that we don’t really need another shirt — we need images, and we need to dream. Sitting there in Paris, looking out at the Eiffel Tower, I think I understood a little better what he meant.

I came into this trip excited, and left having learned a lot. I’m still very new to this world, so I’m happy to observe, ask questions, and take things in. But being around people who have spent so much time developing their own point of view made me want to keep working on mine too — creatively, but also just as a person. To keep learning, changing, and hopefully becoming a better version of myself along the way.

And it made my first show that much more special knowing it marked Anthony’s ten years with Saint Laurent. There’s something I really respect about spending that long building on a vision without standing still. I feel lucky that I got to witness a small part of that history while starting a new chapter of my own.

Thank you to Anthony and everyone at Saint Laurent for welcoming me so warmly, and of course to everyone who came to see me in Paris. Seeing so many Briize that far from home still feels a little crazy... 😭
