I would like to bring to your notice the miserable situation of Delhi traffic. The 7 km traffic jam started from Badarpur flyover in Faridabad to Okhla Estate Marg Flyover. All this because of a fallen tree reportedly fallen since 5 am.

This very basic minimum calculated cost of approx Rs 60 lacs is definitely smaller than the cost of a crane removing the tree in 5 minutes.

So total value of lost time : 3600 cars x Rs 568 / hr x 2.5 hours = 51,12,000

Assuming extra 1 litre per hour of idle engine running due to traffic, total value of lost fuel --> 1 lt/hr x 2 hrs x 3600 cars x Rs 100 = Rs 7,20,000

Traffic jam of 4 hours

This means that atleast 3600 cars (4 hrs x 60 mins x 15 cars) were stuck in traffic

Assuming, average salary of car owner is 1 lacs per month (equivalent to Rs 568 per hour)

Total time spent in traffic is 2.5 hours

The tree halted traffic to a speed of 15 cars a minute on this busy strech.

The tree has been fallen since 5 am and atleast till 12:30 am I am aware the tree was still there.

Assuming, roads gets busy with traffic from 8:30 am.
