Toronto, Canada: Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman met with Mr. Dan Daviau, CEO, and Mr. Rod Phillips, Vice Chair of Canaccord Genuity in Toronto.

In its tweet, the Ministry of Finance wrote, "Discussions covered opportunities to deepen Canaccord Genuity’s engagement with India, including supporting Indian companies in accessing global capital, expanding internationally and acquiring technology and businesses overseas. The discussions also focused on critical minerals and mining, technology and sustainability, and leveraging India as a hub for global businesses. The Finance Minister highlighted India’s large and growing domestic market, deepening capital markets, macroeconomic resilience and ongoing reforms to improve investor protection, ease of doing business and dispute resolution. Nirmala Sitharaman also highlighted the potential for greater Canada–India investment flows and encouraged Canaccord Genuity to explore opportunities across India’s growth sectors and play a constructive role in connecting Canadian and global capital with Indian businesses."
