FIRST ROUND 2026 MATERNAL, NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTH WEEK (MNCHW)
The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, Directorate of Public Health, Nutrition Unit, in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (AKSPHCDA),
maximum participation.
Together, we can give every child a healthy start in life and build healthier mothers, healthier children, and a stronger Akwa Ibom State.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
All services provided during the exercise are completely FREE.
Health workers will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on child health and nutrition.
Community members are encouraged to share this information widely to ensure
all eligible children to the nearest Primary Health Care facility or designated outreach point.
This programme is designed to improve the health and well-being of mothers and children, reduce preventable illnesses, and contribute to building a healthier and stronger Akwa
gathering points to ensure no eligible child is left behind.
CALL TO ACTION
Parents, guardians, caregivers, community leaders, religious organizations, and school administrators are encouraged to actively participate in this important public health intervention by bringing
infections and support proper growth and development.
✅ HPV Vaccination for 9-year-old girls to protect against Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a major cause of cervical cancer.
✅ Community and School Outreach Activities through visits to churches, schools, and other community
life-saving interventions will be offered:
✅ Vitamin A Supplementation for children aged 6–59 months to improve immunity, promote healthy growth, and prevent vitamin A deficiency.
✅ Deworming Services for children aged 12–59 months to protect them from intestinal worm
