Today, Kano State just announced they are sending another batch of over one thousand students on overseas scholarships, and the Internet is quiet. How many of your states have sponsored one hundred students in local Nigerian universities? Few. Very few. But when Kano also sponsors mass weddings, which is their culture and which helps them maintain the moral fabric of their society, you will rush to social media and start vituperating.

How can you be from Anambra, for example, a state where your former Governor, Peter Obi, did not build even one nursery, primary, or secondary school and university and be insulting Kano, a state where their government built two state-owned universities and multiple state-owned polytechnics?

There are seventy-seven communities without schools in Anambra, and your state government has ZERO students on international scholarship. Yet, Kano mass marriage, which, by the way, is common in the Catholic Church, is your problem?

I commend the Government of Kano State for its strides in the education sector and urge more states to learn from Kano. Kano dedicated 31% of its budget to education, the second-highest percentage allocation to education of any state in Nigeria. The highest is Enugu, with 32.99%.

Last year, Kano had the highest sectoral allocation for education of all 36 states.

The UNESCO benchmark is that 26% of the budget should be allocated to education.

Sadly, Anambra, under Peter Obi and even now, has one of the lowest budgets for education but the highest budget for a beer brewery!

If you think your need will attract wealth to you, your expectations will be shattered and the shattering may damage your health. Wealth is not a respecter of need. Wealth is a respecter of principles. Understand the principles of wealth and you will be a principal man.

Money doesn’t go where there is need. Money goes where conditions are ideal. When wealth finds itself in the hands of a man who understands money, it will remain there and begin to multiply. Do not focus on only what you like. Learn what money likes and do it well!

Always treat money like a hen. If you eat your hen, it is gone. But if you feed it until it lays eggs, it endures. Eat only what you need. Then let the remaining eggs hatch into hens. You will then have multiple hens laying multiple eggs, and you will never be poor.

Look at the way God created creation. Everything you eat in nature is naturally regenerated. If you pluck an orange and eat it, you spit out the seeds, which sprout into new orange trees. Use money like that. Eat it, but spit out some to invest and yield more money!

A line has a beginning and an end. So, if you get your money from point A and immediately spend it at point B, your money will have a beginning and an end. A circle has no beginning or end. So if you get your money and you invest before spending, it will never end!

If you want your money to never finish, you must circulate it. When money comes (money comes to everybody at some point), invest it. When it yields profit, spend some and reinvest the rest. If you obey this law of circulating money, you will never be broke in life.

Life is a circle. It comes round in cycles. Everything in life that has sustainability must exist in a cycle. In physics, the sun is maintained by a solar cycle. And the moon also has a lunar cycle, called a lunar phase.

A cycle is a natural phenomenon in which elemental, human and animal creatures are moving in a continuum of maturity through various phases and forms of existence that repeat themselves and by so doing sustains life on Earth in a consistent pattern of growth that is in harmony with nature.

Whenever regulatory agencies and law enforcement bodies in Nigeria identify and nab counterfeiters, whether of foods and beverages or designer brands, phones, electronics or pharmaceuticals, we should not just send them to jail and throw away the keys.

Instead, we should have an agency to legitimise these people. If you can counterfeit the real thing, you can definitely create your own indigenous technology. These guys are not destructive criminals that engage in drug peddling, romance scams and yahoo. They are creative geniuses that reverse engineer a product and replicate it.

The Russians did that to the Americans and the Americans returned the favour. Copying technology is sometimes a necessary crime.

Teach them how to get patents and register a company. Help them get financing. Create an enabling environment, and then they will start creating authentic local alternatives to foreign technologies.

That is how Japan and China started and grew their military-industrial complex to where they are today, such that they now compete with the West.

And to those Nigerians that laugh at Ndi'Igbo, I urge you to take in the larger picture. You cannot even produce ordinary toothpicks, and you are mocking Igbo-made? Look, the technological salvation of Nigeria may come from Aba made!

If we keep sending brilliant minds that can make counterfeits in Aba that are almost as good as what is made in Germany, to Kirikiri, we will forever be a consumer nation. We need to transform into a prosumer economy. One that consumes what they produce. And if we get there by using former counterfeiters, it does not matter. In self-reliance, the end justifies the means.
