The #USA strongly warns #Azerbaijan that a new military attack against #Armenia & the occupation of territories will have serious consequences. These are the sanctions the USA can apply against Azeri- case of an attack on Armenia. But now let's state that although the…

At this moment, #Russia is suffering a crushing defeat in the South Caucasus, and its positions are weakening. The war unleashed by #Azerbaijan against Nagorno Karabakh on September 19 also began the ethnic cleansing of #Armenians. This clearly discredited the Russian peacekeeping mission, which was unable or unwilling to protect the Armenians of #NagornoKarabakh from the aggression of Azerbaijan.
The #Kremlin had been preparing for this day since July in order to remove responsibility from itself. Knowing that Azerbaijan would carry out a military attack against #Armenia, the Russian Foreign Ministry hastened to deny the statement of the Prime Minister of Armenia that Russia is the guarantor of the security of Nagorno #Karabakh.
The #Russians declared that according to the statement of November 9, 2020, they didn't undertake the responsibility of providing security. In addition, Russia began to circulate the false thesis that after Armenia recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the status of Russian peacekeepers in #Artsakh changed, and they became observers from peacekeepers.
Recently, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that after the 2020 war, there was a gentlemen's agreement between the three leaders, according to which the decision on the status of Nagorno Karabakh should be postponed. However, the Russians say that the Prime Minister of Armenia violated it by recognizing the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. All these accusations of Russia are denied by Vladimir #Putin himself, who declared twice in November and December 2020 that Nagorno Karabakh is the territory of Azerbaijan.
In other words, the #Russian president violated the gentlemen's agreement, but #Lavrov blames Armenia. We can conclude that Russia is trying to blame Armenia for its shameful defeat in Nagorno Karabakh, which will naturally not work. Russia is just saving face to justify why it shamefully failed its peacekeeping mission in Nagorno Karabakh.
The issue of the removal of Russian peacekeepers from Nagorno Karabakh will soon be raised. Russia, which agreed to the 44-day war initiated by #Turkey and Azerbaijan in 2020, calculated to stay in Nagorno Karabakh for a long time. #Putin's calculation was that after having Russian troops in the territories of Georgia (Abkhazia, South Ossetia) and Armenia, it's Azerbaijan's turn.
Russia's benefit from the 44-day war was the deployment of troops in Nagorno Karabakh. Vladimir Putin, who was preparing to attack #Ukraine, wanted to have total military control in the #SouthCaucasus. Russia also paid Turkey and Azerbaijan with the return of 7 regions to remain neutral during the #war against Ukraine.
However, the war against Ukraine didn't go according to the scenario drawn by Russia. Not only did it not capture #Kiyev in three days, but for two years the people of Ukraine have been confronting Russia, and even liberated half of the territories under Russian occupation.
Thanks to the support of the #USA, Great Britain, the #EuropeanUnion, and #EU countries, the Ukrainian army is wearing down the Russian forces. The weakening of Russia's position in the war against Ukraine is also the reason why the Russians may soon lose their #military influence in Nagorno Karabakh. Russia needs wars against Azerbaijan and Turkey in order not to hand over Nagorno Karabakh to #Baku's control and make it its outpost. Putin would never go for it.
Russia, which has an unstable position in Ukraine, has chosen to hand over Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan. This is a rent to Baku to use its services in the future. Russia needs Baku now because it sells Russian gas to Europe through Azerbaijan. Russia is planning to get a way to #Iran and Iranian ports through Azerbaijan.
Russia is trying to get the #ZangezurCorridor through Azerbaijan. Russia needs to deploy troops on the Zangezur Corridor outside the control of Armenia, establish customs control at the Azerbaijan-Armenia and Armenia-#Nakhchivan border crossings in order to avoid Western sanctions, and import prohibited goods to Russia without obstacles with the help of Turkey and Azerbaijan. If Armenia controls that road, Russia will not be allowed to bypass the sanctions.
This is why the United States and the European Union should defeat the efforts of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey to get an extraterritorial corridor from Armenia. Of course, the positive role of the United States in this matter is already visible. #Turkish President Erdogan announced after his meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York that if Armenia doesn't want to give the Zangezur Corridor, it will pass through Iran. This is another crushing defeat for Russia.
Armenia will not agree to the provision of a Corridor that assumes an extraterritorial logic, which will mean that the Zangezur Corridor will not be created, which will be guarded by the Russians.
In other words, Russia will not be able to deploy troops of the Federal Security Service on the Zangezur Corridor, because it will not be created. Of course, Armenia is in favor of opening the roads, provided that Armenia's sovereignty and jurisdiction are respected. In that case, the Russians will not be able to stand on those roads.
The roads to be opened under the jurisdiction of Armenia will not have a corridor logic. It can be noted that after Russia lost its position in Nagorno Karabakh, it is also defeated in the territory of Armenia. I claim this by analyzing today's situation.
The next point of Russia's defeat is #Yerevan and the attitude of Armenians. After the 44-day war of 2020, Azerbaijan carried out many military attacks against Armenia. The biggest attack was on September 13, 2022, when Armenia had more than 200 victims and lost 150 square kilometers of territory.
Russia not only handed over Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan, but also refused to fulfill its security obligations towards Armenia. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (#CSTO) led by Russia rejected Armenia's request to provide military assistance.
Armenia will no longer appoint a representative in the CSTO, Yerevan has refused to organize CSTO military exercises and participate in exercises organized on the territory of #Belarus. Armenia refused the quota of CSTO Deputy Secretary, did not sign important documents of the CSTO in November 2022 in Yerevan.
Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO is a matter of short time. At the same time, Russia is finally discredited in Armenia. When Margarita Simonyan and Vladimir Solovyov called on the citizens of Armenia to participate in the anti-government demonstrations, they still thought that also Russia have greath rating in Armenia.
That appeal of Russian propagandists prevented thousands of Armenians from participating in the demonstrations. People realized that Russia is causing chaos and instability in Armenia. There's almost a consensus among the Armenian public that Russia is a #political, #security, and #economic threat to our state.
According to the data of the survey conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI) months ago, among Armenians, Russia is considered the third most threatening power after Azerbaijan and Turkey. I know that the ruling power is also discussing the issue of shutting down Russian TV channels, because Russia has interfered in Armenia's internal political issues through its state TV stations.
Russia has violated the agreement signed by the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia in 2020. Russia is irreversibly discredited in Armenia. I can confidently say that no pro-Russian force can come to power in Armenia. Russia was defeated among the Armenians.
The citizens of Armenia highly appreciated the support of the United States, European Union, Germany, France, and other European countries during the difficult times of our country. We were convinced of this during the United Nations Security Council meetings, and we are also convinced now, when Armenia accepts 100,000 forcibly displaced people.
The head of the Parliament of Armenia met with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the other day. I think Armenia should also raise the level of relations with Ukraine. Russia loses in Armenia, but the main defeat should be recorded in Ukraine. It will bring freedom to the post-Soviet states.
It is the duty of the United States, European Union, Great Britain, and #NATO to ensure the successful completion of this scenario. The opposite is inadmissible, because it will lead to enslavement of states and an iron curtain.
During this period, the West should also increase the support given to Armenia, which needs to protect its independence and sovereignty, in military and security, economic, energy, and other issues.

#Azerbaijan and the #UN have agreed to send a mission to Nagorno Karabakh. The official spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General, Stefan Dujarric, announced the information. The mission is being carried out at the invitation and support of Azerbaijan. It's simply absurd that the UN humanitarian mission is entering #Nagorno Karabakh after more than 100,000 #Armenians have already left Nagorno #Karabakh.
This is a mockery of international law and international organizations. By inviting the UN humanitarian mission, Azerbaijan aims to legitimize the #ethniccleansing that has been carried out in Nagorno Karabakh. Before the forced deportation of Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh, #Armenia and its Western partners proposed a UN fact-finding mission to Nagorno Karabakh, but this didn't happen because Azerbaijan forbade it.
If the UN humanitarian mission had entered Nagorno #Karabakh by September 19, Azerbaijan wouldn't have been able to carry out a military attack and subject Nagorno Karabakh to ethnic cleansing.
According to the UN representative, humanitarian and security issues will be at the center of attention: "The UN mission will leave for Nagorno Karabakh during the weekend. The mission will be led by the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Ramesh Rajasingham, as well as the permanent UN coordinator in Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva.
The technical team of the United Nations Department for Humanitarian Affairs and representatives of various agencies of the organization will be included in the mission. We have not had access there for 30 years, so this is a very important development. The team will try to assess the situation on the ground and clarify the humanitarian needs of both those who are staying there and those who are leaving" said Dujarric.
I'm sure that Azerbaijan will not give the UN humanitarian mission freedom to roam the entire territory of Nagorno Karabakh. Azerbaijan will accompany the representatives of the international mission to places where the traces of its war crimes will not be seen. In other words, Azerbaijan will keep the UN mission under total control so that they do not record Baku's war crimes.
The UN mission will not have the opportunity to record cases of murders of civilians, illegal seizures, and targeting of residential buildings. And the few Armenians who remained in Nagorno Karabakh don't dare to describe their difficult humanitarian situation. The visit of the UN mission to Nagorno Karabakh can only be considered credible if they record that Karabakh has undergone ethnic cleansing and Armenians have been forcibly displaced from #Artsakh.
After that, a judicial process should be initiated in the UN court against Azerbaijan on the basis of ethnic cleansing, forced deportations, ethnic discrimination in Nagorno Karabakh, and accusations of committing war crimes. The UN should not allow the dictatorial regime of Azerbaijan to use its authority to legitimize ethnic cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh.
By the way, Armenia has already filed a lawsuit against Azerbaijan with the UN International Court of Justice alleging violation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination against the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh.
Armenia has submitted a petition to the UN court to apply provisional measures to preserve and protect the rights stipulated in the international convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination.
Armenia calls on the UN court to confirm Azerbaijan's commitment to refrain from "any action directly or indirectly aimed at deporting the remaining ethnic Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh." #Yerevan expects Baku to "refrain from taking punitive measures against current or former political representatives or military personnel of Nagorno Karabakh."
