@JustJocey09 The process is so rigid! In requesting kids for our summer school site many weren’t approved due to small clerical errors with no feedback on the app. With school counselor support can also take 30mins-1 hour to complete.
Antwoin Nicholson, 16, plays chess in Shirley Ave. Park w/ his coach Kim Hicks Friday.
Collaborating w/ Park Heights Renaissance & other groups, The Board Room Chess founder Hicks held a 6-wk program to teach Baltimore teens the basics of chess, life skills & entrepreneurship.
@JustJocey09 I tutor a student at CN and their big project for algebra is a coding simulation. I’m like dang this is cool, but how do I fit something like this in after all of the mandated assessments and intervention programs while implementing the curriculum as well..during a pandemic!
@SonjaSantelises@DavisDeniene Sports physicals are a big barrier right now for many students to play. At my school the coaches are trying to find the easiest options possible, we want a season! Is there any way at a district level to make this requirement more accessible, especially this year?
This could not have been possible without the collective efforts of students, parents, and educators making this demand and staying on MSDE about it! We need to remember this and bring that same energy advocating for what we know our schools need!
@ReaganGomez My classroom sink overflowed my first year teaching from backed up pipes. Trying to bail it out and running across my room, I slipped, and ate it. The aftermath was caught of camera with lots of “SHE BUST HER ASS.” End of the year it was voted funniest moment.
@MoniseLSeward I organize by day within that week. With assignments titled by the lesson number. At the end of the week I nest the assignments under the overall “Topic Assignments” which can still be done late. That’s an extra step but they’ve followed it well
@jkirk___ Seeing your thoughts on this ( and others) I adjusted my grades to reflect this policy. I’m also hoping for students who had difficulty with internet access/virtual learning it decreases stress about going back to Week 1 but allows them to be more engaged in current content!
@kv_dunn https://t.co/7qMWviohSU is very user friendly but not well aligned to a ti83/84 if your students need to understand those commands. GrafNCalc is a free iPhone one with no stat buy up and similar to 83/84. Otherwise desmos!
Publishing student writing shifts students from consumers to creators of stories. LaQuisha Hall, a Baltimore educator, has guided more than 100 students to becoming published authors, @mdawriter reports: https://t.co/7NOLTfZB0t
