If you're in "untalented valley" there's a chance it's because your art lacks the illusion of volume or depth depending on what you're trying to achieve!
As you learn anatomy and advanced fundamentals you start using more complexe shapes and it's harder to track its volume.
если вы еще этого не поняли, я принципиальная и злопамятная, поэтому будьте уверены, я буду помнить КАЖДЫЙ проеб ппг и буду ВСЕГДА топить за ответственность, которую они должны понести

...Do they know that “MC” is an abbreviation for “𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿”?
This is precisely why we need to be rid of the non-gamers/akgaes/YTMs/CDGs within gaming fandoms. They have no business inserting themselves into gaming spaces in the first place, because they have absolutely no familiarity with the medium.

Chinese context is extremely important, and posts like this help global players understand dynamics many of us simply aren't familiar with.
❗️BUT I also think there's another side we shouldn't lose sight of: Infold isn't simply a Chinese company whose game happens to be available overseas. Infold was specifically established as Paper Games' international brand, with global expansion and a global audience in mind.
That means operating globally also comes with responsibilities. If you actively build an international player base, market to them and accept their money, you also need to communicate with them, understand their expectations and develop ways to navigate conflicts between the domestic and global markets.
Chinese fandom dynamics, regulatory pressure, antis and coordinated reporting may help explain why certain decisions are difficult or why Infold acts cautiously. And understanding that context absolutely matters.
But explanation shouldn't become justification.
Global players shouldn't be expected to accept silence, poor communication or decisions affecting their market simply because the situation in China is complicated.
We need to understand the environment Infold operates in — but Infold also has a responsibility to understand and address the global audience it deliberately chose to serve.
Both things can be true at the same time.
‼️ Okay, so about my post yesterday asking for antis AND neutrals to give me their side on why they believe Valko shouldn’t be in the game.
This will be long. Sorry.
Firstly I want to explain WHY I did this and some disclaimers.
I was not siding with them. I was not asking to be convinced. I was not agreeing with them, and I went into this knowing we would probably disagree at every single point.
I wanted to give them the chance to fully explain their reasoning, in a calm and normal way, without them having to be defensive about it. I wanted to give them a chance to hear them out on why they thought this was justified instead of us just throwing insults at each other and fighting and getting literally nothing productive out of the conversation.
If they thought they had a valid point, I was ready to hear them out. Not because I thought I would agree, but because I am trying to understand their thinking. I thanked the ones willing to be chill and honest, not because I thought they were right, but because they were exactly that, chill and honest.
Now to summarize the responses-
I’m not gonna talk about the insane ones lol there was no productive argument to be had there. I am only summarizing the people that spoke calmly
Most of what I got back was in my DMs. There was a lot under the post in the replies/quotes too but the majority of it was in DMs.
I got a lot of people basically saying they just don’t like his character/trope/looks.
They either didn’t like the way he looked or that they thought he was made of all reused things from the other LIs and somehow also didn’t fit with the others either.
I’m not gonna go into that any further cause we’ve all been hearing that same shit for the past 3 months. And whether that’s your opinion or not, it is not a valid reason for his cancellation.
You’re free to dislike/ hate a character and their tropes without taking them away from the people that do like him.
There were a surprising amount if people who actually DID want Valko at first, but they admitted they were influenced by part of fandom’s negative reaction to him at first, and pretty much jumped on the bandwagon of hate. Which i guess i appreciate the honesty….and im also not surprised.
There were many people saying they thought Valko would dilute/take away from the other 5s content. They just straight up thought 6 was too many. I mean you can think that, but I still don’t think it’s a valid reason for his removal.
Many thought he was rushed. I got that a lot. Unsurprising as we’ve heard that a million times by now. Obviously a lot of us disagree, but whatever.
The most common response I got though was people were mad at Infold. They were upset how they seemingly ignored the many other issues that were already existing before Valko’s release. They were upset about missing content, upset about waiting a long time in between story updates, and then they were upset to be hit with another LI before any of that was addressed. (Their words)
Do *I* think this is a valid justification for completing removing a character and throwing away what must have been countless hours of creative work? No.
For some reason so many of them also said they felt blindsided by his release and I haven’t really had anyone be able to properly explain WHY they felt that way. They just said they felt like it came out of nowhere. I don’t know if we just have vastly different perspectives or what, but I know a lot of us were anticipating a 6th LI for a long time. So idk.
And lastly, a lot of them said it was the fandom that turned them against Valko. They saw the way the fandom exploded after he was debuted, and the way they reacted after his cancellation, and had such a negative view of the game, its characters, the company, and the fandom, that they started hating everything. +
I feel like I should also lay out some critiques of Infold and what I mean by accounting for more factors while still holding them accountable.
Off the bat I believe most suggestions and demands global have had have been misrepresented as obvious easy no risk choices. “Say you’re postponing him” “address global directly” “don’t bow down to children”, “you should have seen this coming”* (this one in particular depends on how much room the person making the argument gives for what can be reasonably done in preparation)
Because in a lot of ways none of those actions are as risk free as they would be here in the west. These factors have to do with how China’s laws leave a lot of loopholes for misuse of their report policies. In which citizens are encouraged to report to the government things that violate laws and ideological policies. This is a known issue of being misused to inflate power of a very aggressive minority in minor juvenile disputes because they are required to intervene once a certain threshold is met regardless of whether or not the reports are true.
This is a well documented issue and has been one that does particularly impact women’s media especially. Like fundamentally internet trolls by a loophole in the government are given a stupid amount of power. That loophole does present a real risk for companies like ppg.
Some of those policies that can be reported on include very explicitly nationalist and anti western policies despite goals to have soft power in a global market— this impacts a narrative that can be spun in addressing global if they don’t choose their words carefully.
In additon to this announcing you are going to work on Valko before you actually do it is pouring gasoline on a fire. Because again trolls have undeserved power.
ALL OF THAT BEING SAID just demonstrates risk.
Because at the same time. Maintaining the good will and trust of your players is critical to a companies survival. These factors only point out the WEIGHT in risk assessment not the ultimate conclusion.
Because while I firmly believe some things we don’t like *had* to happen for the company’s existential survival not all of them had to in the way it’s gone down.
Because, all of these things are factors. You have the company’s existential concerns being their licensing and political elements, you have fan satisfaction, and revenue. It has to be a balancing act and you cannot put all of your eggs in one basket.
So while I do push back against being told yeah they’re malicious and could have easily just done XYZ. I don’t understand why they’re so silent etc. because it doesn’t. Understand the real risks present.
I also don’t believe that taking NO risks at the expense of player trust is ever going to be an acceptable move. Now I cannot determine which of their options available to them would be an acceptable risk but something should have given. Because you cannot constantly make your players an acceptable casualty.
In addition to this they still tried to squeeze money out of that same playerbase. Which was a choice. Not a risk assessment but a choice unless I am unaware of some fine print that says otherwise. It is like pouring salt into a wound. Those two together gives a very gross feeling for me personally.
I do believe for instance, making a neutral statement that’s vague that just says we fucked up, we’re taking a break from production to figure out how we can right our issues. Would have been a low risk (but not no risk) action that would have at least given something for players especially global to hold on to.
But instead they pushed their most highly anticipated content to try to force players hands instead of really respecting WHY we were withholding money. Again another risk would be to not make the pennies they did on the good content they basically wasted: and pull back to fix things. Even if they cannot explicitly say any intentions to bring Valko back.

"Do you think what wolf fans want right now is for wolf to be added to the game?" Yes. Yes I do. That is what wolf fans want. They want him to be added to the game.
