📍 Alexander Shenderyuk-Zhidkov @al_re, Representative of the Kaliningrad Region in the Federation Council of Russia and First Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee, assessed post-Cold War Russia-West relations and current geopolitical fault lines during his address at the East-West Forum held in Istanbul on September 26:
💬 "We opened our hearts to the liberal world, only to find a war on our doorstep"
💬 "Dostoevsky spoke of understanding the other while remaining true to oneself—the capacity to step into another's world without giving up your own... Liberal universalism, however, imposes the exact opposite"
💬 "We must do everything in our power to prevent artificial intelligence from dragging us back into a unipolar world"
💬 "In this case, one must ask: Why should Türkiye remain dependent on the US as a partner? Türkiye could very well emerge as an independent pole in a multipolar world"

We're tired of the endless toying with the Kaliningrad issue. Western politicians, and most importantly their voters, must understand that Kaliningrad's security concerns everyone. We simply need to stop all speculation on this topic and understand once and for all: this is our land! #NATO #Kaliningrad

Thanks @al_re for coming!
It was a wonderful conference and YOU ALL made today’s East-West-Forum im Istanbul!
The Videos of the Panels will be soon released by @haricitr
Today, I spoke at the East-West Forum in Istanbul on a panel about escalation and the contours of a new world order.
The overall tone of the forum is a critique of the unipolar liberal order and a search for multipolar institutions. Global intellectuals have long since abandoned the anti-Russian line. Russia is viewed as an independent pole and a necessary element of European and Eurasian security, not as an object of isolation.
I believe it is crucial to state Russia's position at such forums. The world awaits it and understands that the future is impossible without our strong and great country.
Thanks to @akkoc_tunc and @ulrikeguerot for invitation.
The forum featured leading global thinkers and public speakers, including:
- Zhang Weiwei (China) – Advisor to Xi Jinping, host of the program "Taiwan China" on state TV, 1.28 million subscribers on Bilibili, over 100 million views since 2019. One of the key voices shaping the official narrative about China's development model.
- Daniel Davis (@DanielLDavis1 ) – Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Deep Dive YouTube channel – approximately 470,000 subscribers, over 187 million views. One of the fastest-growing independent military analysts in the United States,
- Glen Diesen (@Glenn_Diesen ) – professor, main YouTube channel with approximately 600,000 subscribers, 165 million views, plus a Spanish-language channel and Substack. Ranked among the top 20 YouTube bloggers in Norway,
- Zhou Bo (China) – retired PLA colonel, voice of the military-strategic wing of Chinese expertise, Tsinghua University,
- Ali Asghar Soltanieh (Iran) – former Permanent Representative of Iran to the IAEA, one of the architects of Iranian nuclear diplomacy on the international stage for decades; his position is traditionally perceived as the official voice of the Iranian Foreign Ministry on the nuclear dossier,
- Mohammad Shehada (@muhammadshehad2 ) – former head of communications at Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor; A regular contributor to Al Jazeera, Newsweek, The Forward, and The New Arab, he is one of the few analysts providing Western media with direct insights from inside Gaza.
- Jagannath Panda (India) is the head of the Stockholm International Peace Research Center (ISDP) and a senior fellow at The Hague Center for Strategic Studies. He testified before the US Congressional Committee on Economic and Military Affairs, a figure with direct access to the formation of India's Indo-Pacific agenda.
- Richard Sakwa is a professor at the University of Kent, one of the leading Western experts in Russian studies, and the author of key books on Ukraine and Russia.
And many others.
At the first session. Prof. Zhang Weiwei said the world is already multipolar; the BRICS GDP has surpassed the G7; China is a "civilizational state"; China's political philosophy is based not on the "friend/foe" paradigm, but on the "friend/potential friend" paradigm; the priority is to avoid the use of force. G. Diesen, A. Lieven, and J. Panda developed the theme of the end of US liberal exceptionalism and the role of civilizational states (China, Russia, India, Iran). U. Gero, at the opening, declared that she spoke on behalf of Europeans who do not want a war between Europe and Russia, and that a multipolar order is already taking shape.
I attended the second session. The program questions directly addressed Russia as a possible East-West bridge, the preservation of Russia's European identity, a security architecture involving Moscow, AI and drone warfare, and the role of middle powers (including Turkey). The European and American panelists (von der Schulenburg, D. Davis) advocated realistic positions: against endless escalation and in favor of negotiations. Chinese military expert Zhou Bo maintained a cautious line on Ukraine and emphasized the regulation of AI in the military sphere. Iranian participant A. Soltanieh outlined Iran's place in the post-Western Middle East.
📍 Alexander Shenderyuk-Zhidkov, Kaliningrad Representative to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and First Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee, addressed Russia-West relations and the multipolar world order at the East-West Forum:
💬 “That day, we opened our hearts to the liberal world; but we realized that the liberal world was not there for our happiness, they wanted our sovereignty.”
💬 “Putin said ‘Make Russia Great Again’ exactly 16 years before Trump.”
💬 “I carry a Ukrainian surname.”
💬 “Oswald Spengler described us, the youth of Russia, as the ‘children of Dostoevsky.’”
💬 “You cannot be a nation without being open to others; in my view, this is precisely what Kant meant by perpetual peace.”
💬 “Today, our world is multipolar, and no country can turn us back from this point.”

The death of Charlie Kirk is a great loss for the world. Charlie was one of the conservative leaders and fought for traditional values. His murder shows that liberals are ready to commit any crime for the sake of their crazy ideas. #CharlieKirk#Conservative
The Russian Foreign Ministry's statement on the withdrawal of the moratorium on the deployment of medium- and short-range missiles is the result of NATO countries’ anti-Russian policy.
This is a new reality all our opponents will have to reckon with. Expect further steps.
The labeling of #AfD as an extremist organization is a stark example of political persecution in today’s Europe. The European ruling regime, which constantly lectures us on democracy, once again reveals its authoritarian nature https://t.co/fzap35U6X5
Lithuania's ban on motorcyclists traveling to Kaliningrad is a "gross violation" of the Kaliningrad transit agreement and the UN Convention on Road Traffic. Lithuania is discriminating against motorcyclists worldwide. #Kaliningrad#Lithuania#Russia
Easter is the holiest day for Christian. Thousands of orthodox stand on the front lines. Declaring by President an Easter truce continues a old tradition. We hope the Kyiv will show reason. But our troops are always prepared for any possible provocations. #EasterTruce#Peace
