My mum’s GP got Meta glasses recently. He very proudly showed them off to mum. I was appalled when she told me. She raised my concerns on next appointment and he couldn’t see the problem because he’d never film anything he shouldn’t. I’m tempted to report it to AHPRA. @abc730

@AjaxXanthe @criprights The CB improved category is a stated support so not flexible to use for other types of support, only therapy. If it’s broadly worded e.g. just says ‘therapy’ it’s flexible within the category. If they specify OT & Speech you can only use for those.

A friend recently did an early childhood degree upgrading from certificate quals. She told me most students were from overseas and she was shocked at the lack of basic knowledge that they should have from their certs and work experience. #abc730

Watching the #olympics skateboarding is scary. So much concrete, so many falls, many with no helmets or they are on but not tightened. Aussie girl just hit her head with no helmet on. So dangerous.

@rebeccamillar83 Book wheelchair assistance at airport. Do a loo stop, buy coffee/food before you check in as you may just get taken straight to the gate to wait. There’s limited number per flight so need to book.

@criprights Considering that it’s around 6mths to get a change of circumstances reassessment because NDIA can’t do things in a timely way that it would be very sensible to squirrel away funds for if your situation changes because NDIA won’t be there to help you.

@criprights I’ve seen people report they’ve been told not appeal a bad plan within 3mths to just spend what they need and go for early review if they run out. That’s usually coming from LACs so NDIA can’t manage their own contractors. It’s participants who tell them that’s bad advice!

@MarieColemanAO @MichaelWestBiz @roller2426 So there lots of extra costs still with NDIS. Less gaps than with aged care as no co pay for supports but the necessary extras that you’d not have to pay for otherwise. I heard of someone had the soap & toilet roll holder refused in home mod. 2/

@MarieColemanAO @MichaelWestBiz @roller2426 Same with NDIS. They only fund basic version. Won’t even fund lighting for new path of travel to enter my house. A basic safety requirement imo. Want to share an electric bed with partner ? They’ll only pay a single. So you have to get rid of queen bed and buy companion bed. 1/

@roller2426 For Gardening the current price cap is less than the market rate in many cases. However, if they know the system they can charge travel. Which they’d never charge non NDIS. If making up to regular rate I’m ok with that but some are just profiteering. 3/

@roller2426 Plus most likely being registered as most home mods are Agency mgd. So there’s audit & compliance costs. It is a lot thorough and I’ve had wildly different quotes for my home mods. (3yr process and counting) OT costs are also high. 2/

@JEChalmers @Mark_Butler_MP New ME/CFS clinical guidelines & research were recommended by nhmrc in 2019 & in the Sick and tired: Casting a long shadow report 12mths ago. The current guidelines are 22 years old and are not in keeping with world best practice.
