As I discussed in @TheHill, Jack Smith and @thejusticedept have some options to end the Trump cases on their own terms, including dismissing without prejudice so that the cases can be re-filed in four years. https://t.co/EDnNxVOa7j
Last I checked, a federal investigation into your wildly suspect behavior does not make you qualified to run the Department of Justice. My statement on Rep. Matt Gaetz's nomination as the U.S. Attorney General:
Trump won the election, but more than 72 million people voted for Democrats and they donโt expect us to roll over and play dead. We will have a peaceful transition of power, followed by a vigorous challenge from the party out of power, because thatโs how democracy works.
First the Supreme Court granted a president immunity for weaponizing the Justice Department.
Now Donald Trump wants to appoint Matt Gaetz as AG?
Confirming him would mean affirming the worst potential abuses of DOJ.
He must be rejected by the Senate.
I am profoundly honored to be the Principal Deputy Press Secretary for @JoeBiden. I am especially thrilled to work alongside @jrpsaki whose leadership and stellar instincts will ensure we are positioned to effectively communicate the Biden-Harris agenda to all Americans.
"It's not just about the outcome. It's about the full citizenship of Black people, the right to participate it the political process and have our votes cast and counted and have our votes have the same value as the votes cast by anybody else in our society." - @Sifill_LDF
Van, thank you for expressing the sorrow and relief that we all feel. My hope is that those who hoped for a different outcome will take a moment to empathize with the pain so many of us have felt over the past four years.
The voters have spoken, and they have chosen @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris to be our next president and vice president.
It's a history-making ticket, a repudiation of Trump, and a new page for America.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Onward, together.
Judge Barrett, your children sat in the Oval Office with the president and attended the reception. Are you concerned the president likely was positive at that point? If he knowingly exposed others is that reckless endangerment?
Instead of taking up additional COVID-19 relief legislation that our country so desperately needs, the Senate on Monday is holding Supreme Court confirmation hearings. This is entirely out of touch with what the American people are demanding.
If your vote didnโt matter they wouldnโt be trying so hard to take it from you. Vote like your life depends on it. Not because I told you to, but because he doesnโt want you to.
Vote for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris.
