Topic: The Overcomers
Text: 1 John 4:4

Life is war. Ephesians 6: 12
We are constantly wrestling against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

We are asked to be sober and vigilant. 1 Peter 5:8

The beautiful thing about all this is that you can become an overcomer. John 16: 33
God says in His word that you have won.

You are an overcomer because there is someone in you Who is greater than all those in the world.
Anytime you're facing a war you can't win, you need to get an ally who is greater than you and can defeat your enemy.

Why am I so confident that we are overcomers?
If we have God on our side, we have already won. Romans 8: 31, 37
• Your Ally, the One Who will give you victory, has many ways of dealing with enemies.
• If lions come against you, He can apply the law of substitution. Proverbs 11:8, Daniel 6
• If they throw you into the fire, God can swallow their fire and consume them.
Sometimes, a case can be so complicated. But all you need is a word from God.

There is something called generational blessings. Galatians 3: 29
If you are a Christian, the blessings of Abraham are yours.

• Physically, you're an overcomer because Jesus paid a very terrible price for your healing. 1 Peter 2: 24
• Materially, you're to be an overcomer because Jesus paid for it.
2 Corinthians 8:9
• Maritally, you're to be an overcomer.
If you'd cling to Jesus, you'd bear much fruit. John 15: 1-15

• Spiritually, it is established that you're an overcomer.
All evil forces are under the feet of Jesus, and we are part of His body. No matter how low you are in Christ, you're not lower than His feet. Ephesians 1: 18-23
• Careerwise, you're meant to be an overcomer. John 12:32
You are planned to be an overcomer.
You will be an overcomer.

But there are several things you must do:
1. You must love God. Romans 8: 37, Proverbs 8: 17
Love is a 2-way traffic. The Lord loves those who love Him.

2. You must submit yourself totally to God. No pretense. James 4:7
The moment the devil knows you're fully submitted to God, if he tries to attack you, he knows that God will back you up.

3. You must abide in God. Psalm 91: 1-8
To abide under the shadow of the Almighty God, you must dwell in the secret place. Every day of your life, you must be in Christ.
Don't stray from God. Stay close to Him. Psalm 23:6
If you stray away from God, you put yourself in danger.

4. Hearken and obey God.
You may never need to fight if you hearken unto the Lord.
Life is war; war is made up of battles. There is a way where you won't have to fight any battles.
Deuteronomy 28: 1-13

5. Believe in God.
God doesn't gain anything by lying to you.

When we talk about lying for a promotion, who is going to promote the Most High?
There is no reason for God to lie.
God has spoken to you tonight; believe Him.
Mark 11: 22-23

6. Learn to praise and worship God. Psalm 18: 1-3

God wants you to worship Him in spirit and in truth. John 4: 23-24
When you worship God, He arises, and when He arises, His enemies scatter.
Nobody wants to stay where their enemy is being praised.
There are occasions when it's difficult to pray. When you can't pray, praise Him.
Mark 5: 2-20

7. You must testify.
Revelation 12: 11
The reason why many of us lose our miracles is that we don't testify.
We want to listen to the testimonies of others but don't want to share ours.

8. You must overcome hell.
The ultimate overcomer is the one who makes it to heaven.
Hell exists; the fire keeps burning there forever, and there is no way out.

Salvation Call
If you haven't given your life to Jesus or would like to rededicate your life to Him, ask the Lord to have mercy on you, forgive your sins, wash you clean with His blood, and save your soul.

Tell Him you want to be an ultimate overcomer, and ask Him to dwell in you.
