Our @CICan_Kenya team was honoured to participate in the “100 Years of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) in Kenya” celebration last week in Nairobi.
During the event, the Young Africa Works booth—a program funded by the @MastercardFdn to boost youth participation, particularly among women, in market-relevant skills training—was visited by Kenya’s President, His Excellency, President @WilliamsRuto. President Ruto praised CICan’s long-standing commitment to international development and our significant contributions to youth employability, gender equality, and the strengthening of Kenya’s TVET sector.
With funding from @GAC_Corporate the Mastercard Foundation, CICan and our members, in partnership with @EduMinKenya and other local collaborators, implement several programs across Kenya. These initiatives leverage Canada’s community college model and training expertise to improve youth employability, develop skills in key economic sectors, and provide training for equity-deserving groups, particularly women.

Canada is home to many of the world’s best schools and post-secondary institutions. Earlier today I heard from some post-secondary education leaders about how the federal government can support students, innovation, and R&D in the coming months—an inspiring conversation!
We are proud to have participated in the 33rd CANTA Membership Meeting in Grenada. Our team used this meeting to strengthen our relationship with CANTA members and continue our advocacy for green skills in the region. #cican_sage#greenskills

The usual chaos @TorontoPearson. Been waiting 45 min for gate to be ready. Missed original connection. Bizarrely hoping for further flight delays so I can get a later flight and sleep in my own bed tonight. Avoid this airport if you can.
