Today’s brutal attacks by 🇮🇱 on Beirut 🇱🇧, which have left more than 100 dead - with the toll still rising - and over 700 wounded, are an outrage.
Targeting civilians is a grave violation of humanity and international law.
De-escalation must begin now. This war must stop.
While registration requirements are normal, Israel's new contested registration law goes far beyond that & must not be implemented in its current form.
Israel must meet its obligations under international humanitarian law.

🇮🇱 Enough with these caricatures, Minister @gidonsaar.
In Belgium, the judiciary is independent and makes its decisions —whether one agrees with them or not— free from any political influence. I recall that the proceedings in question were initiated by representatives of the Jewish community themselves. To portray those as a country’s desire to undermine the religious freedom of Jews is defamatory. This freedom has never been called into question and never will be in our country. Our Constitution protects it.
Since you yourself recently urged against conducting diplomacy via Twitter, I suggest that we discuss all these issues during a meeting in Israel at a time that suits you best, in order to put an end to any misinterpretations.
@BelgiumMFA
🇺🇸 Mr. Ambassador @BillWhiteUSA,
I urge you to exercise greater restraint and to view your role in its proper context. It is inappropriate to publicly criticize a country and tarnish its image simply because you disagree with judicial proceedings. I have already told you this. Would you consider it acceptable for our Ambassador in Washington to do the same?

And it is not for an ambassador to dictate the government’s agenda.

Lebanon: Sharp escalation in violence has reversed recent food security gains and pushed country back into crisis.
Acute food insecurity is likely to deepen without sustained, timely humanitarian support.

Le Moyen-Orient est en feu.
Le Liban paie le prix le plus lourd : des milliers morts, 1,2 million de déplacés.
Nous condamnons les attaques indiscriminées contre les civils. Le droit international humanitaire doit être respecté, sans exception.
ALARM!
How on earth is possible that Israel is allowed to assault and seize vessels in international waters just off Greece/Europe? Besides what you can think of Apartheid Israel and its genocidal leaders, this should send shock waves across Europe.
Apartheid without borders.
Amid continued vandalism, thefts and arson, Israeli settlers demolished an EU-funded school in the West Bank.
Over 40 children lost their right to education. Their community was forced to flee, fearing for their lives.
The EU demands accountability and respect for IHL.
Under international humanitarian law & the Rome Statute, intentionally destroying, withholding, or targeting civilian infrastructure—water, power, hospitals, food, roads, solar panels or communications—during armed conflict is a #WarCrime.

Homes reduced to rubble. Water systems destroyed. Olive groves wiped out. A million displaced.
In southern 🇱🇧, entire livelihoods are being erased. This must stop.
Civilians must be protected. IHL must be upheld. The ceasefire must hold.
.@antonioguterres is deeply saddened by the death of a second French @UNIFIL_ peacekeeper following the 18 April attack in southern #Lebanon.
He extends condolences and calls for accountability.
Attacks on peacekeepers must stop 🛑

The Middle East is on fire.
Lebanon is paying the heaviest price: over 2,000 dead, 1.2 million displaced, 250,000 flying to Syria.
We condemn indiscriminate attacks on civilians. International humanitarian law must be respected, without exception.

🚨 CPJ calls for an urgent international investigation into Israel’s killing of Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil. Israel’s failure to allow medical crews access in time to save her while she was injured may constitute a war crime. Read more: https://t.co/B0Px82JtFF
🇵🇸🇮🇱 Sixty countries and eight international organisations gathered today at the Egmont Palace in Brussels for the 9th meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
Belgium hosted the meeting organized by the European Union and co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and Norway. The Alliance was launched in September 2024 on the margins of the UN General Assembly. Since then, it met in New York, Riyadh, Dublin, and twice here in Brussels. This growing momentum matters.
The two-states solution is not a dream for idealists. It is the only realistic destination. For Israelis, who deserve security. For Palestinians, who deserve sovereignty. For a region that deserves stability. While other crises dominate headlines, we refuse to let the Israeli-Palestinian question disappear from the international agenda.
Two states, living side by side in peace and security, is the only path that leads somewhere. Everything else risks leading to permanent conflict.
@BelgiumMFA
Delivering life-saving supplies should never be life-threatening.
I join @UNICEF in their outrage over the killing of two truck drivers at the Mansoura water filling point in northern Gaza yesterday. My thoughts are with the victims' families.
These #IHL violations must end.
#Liban: L’Union européenne condamne l’attaque contre la FINUL qui a coûté la vie à un soldat de maintien de la paix français, et qui selon toute vraisemblance a été perpétrée par le Hezbollah.

The two-state solution remains the most viable path to a Middle East without war.
Europe is the biggest supporter of the Palestinian people. Our meeting today focused on the next steps to support Gaza and the West Bank.
