@WaterJunkieCat@wave3trades “Adjusted profitability” After removing all the inference costs, training costs, option compensation, and everything else that actually costs the most money.
Yup, it's the top! Brad Gerstner was on CNBC an hour ago shilling AI, when an unexpected question came up.
"I did... uh... uh... uh... a presentation about a month ago... our exposures are the lowest they've been in 3 years"
Meanwhile, he just sold most of his AI investments 🤥
@FinanceLancelot@CNBCFastMoney 😅 “Live in two different worlds,” of course. If you lose money for hedge funds, you're in trouble. But for your own VC fund, it's all funded by private credit, so of course these money can go to zero.
@WaterJunkieCat@wave3trades Dario and Altman must be happy about it. Now they can finally stop pretending they're preparing for an IPO, just sit back, wait for a bailout, and never have to reveal their real revenue numbers. A crisis is always a good time to cook the books.
@FinanceLancelot I keep wondering who the hell is behind all of this. Jamie Dimon? Also I think this has something to do with Anthropic IPO. I don't think they can make it, just like WeWork never did. A crash before Nov would give them a good excuse to delay its IPO.
@WaterJunkieCat@wave3trades True. I closed my positions just in case, so I'm not holding any shares right now. Still, I kinda doubt this will trigger a Bloody Monday. I know multiple risk factors are piling up and could lead to a sharp sell off, but before the midterms?
Many younger investors may experience the worst bear market of their life in the next few years, it actually began in May/June 2026 already for many stocks. This could be a once in 20-30 year event - you may get one of these opportunities in your productive lifetime.
Everything is lining up perfectly- we have a small window here for a small rally given seasonal window before Anthropic IPO given how washed out many $IWM names are - but dont count on that even. The safer play is not counting on that small rally but being nimble if it happens to participate.
Since May 2026 and now as we head into the Anthropic IPO positioning should be about survival. Hunker down try to keep high cash balance (50-70%+) cash and have very low expectations or optimism. Play your cards right next few years and you can come out many years later a lot better off.
Equities optimists will get obliterated like never before. Understand that the golden age of optimism is over for equity investors. Many stocks are down 40-80% before the downturn has even metastasized. Using negative investor sentiment as some kind of signal for a contrarian rally is risky in this environment until something changes materially.
People keep holding hope that Iran war will end, but the issues go much deeper than Iran war. Ukraine war is now on its 4th year by the way.
The unemployment cycle has not even begun we are almost certain to see unemployment go over 5/6% in the coming years which will be the beginning of the next crisis historically.
Look at the timing of when the AI trade will bust then look ahead to the 2028 election that Dems will likely win. They are strongly anti-ai and data centers.
Everything is there if you choose to see it. Warsh is much more hawkish than people want to believe also. There is a reason Peter Theil has left the country for Argetina.

@FinanceLancelot Where does that come from? I’m Chinese, and I’ve always thought CCP is all bark and no bite when it comes to other countries, but acts all tough when it’s dealing with its own people. How on earth can it control Canada
