It was an honour to officially launch Mfantsipim School’s 150th anniversary celebrations this evening. Generations have passed through this great institution, which has reinforced the intellectual foundations of our nation. For me, from my father’s generation to my sons’, Mfantsipim has been a source of excellence, discipline, and character formation. The healthy rivalry with schools such as Adisadel College, grounded in respect and intellectual engagement, is a reminder of the values that should define our public discourse.

Mfantsipim’s legacy, rooted in the vision of the Methodist Church (formerly the Wesleyan Mission), reflects a long tradition of shaping leaders. This milestone is not only a celebration of longevity but also of the impact education has had on our identity and strengthening the foundations of our nation. We must ensure that access to education is expanded without compromising quality, while aligning learning with innovation, critical thinking, and national development.

In that light, the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, used the occasion to announce concrete and substantial support for the education of persons with disabilities and for the completion of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The current students are the keepers of a proud legacy. I urge them to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and service. The Old Boys’ continued support remains invaluable in sustaining and advancing the institution. I commend all stakeholders for their contributions and congratulate the entire Mfantsipim community on this historic milestone. May the next 150 years be even more impactful.

In the coming days, the National Identification Authority - NIA, Ghana in collaboration with the private sector, will begin piloting the NIA 24/7 Prestige Registration Centers across the country.

These registration centers will be open 24/7, including weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). Registration Services will also be made available online.

Over the weekend, I was invited to serve as the guest of honor at the Eagles Forum Banquet and Awards Night. Discussions at the event centered on the feasibility of the 24-hour economy policy and its potential impact on the country.

In my address, I expressed my gratitude to the organizers and commended The Eagles Forum for their contributions to the NDC’s 2024 manifesto. I emphasized the need for the nation to rediscover its identity and to prioritize key national challenges. Additionally, I highlighted the importance of individuals assessing their capacities and actively contributing to problem-solving efforts. I stressed that nation-building is a shared responsibility and called for collective action to drive sustainable progress.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration and strategic thinking in addressing Ghana’s developmental priorities.
