১. মেট্রোরেল পরিচালনাকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান ঢাকা মাস ট্রানজিট কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের (ডিএমটিসিএল) ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকের পদ থেকে ফারুক আহমেদকে সরিয়ে দিয়েছে সরকার।

২. বিভিন্ন দেশে মেট্রোরেল নির্মাণ ও পরিচালনায় অভিজ্ঞ ফারুক আহমেদকে আন্তর্জাতিক বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে নিয়োগ দিয়েছিল অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার।

৩. দেশ-বিদেশ থেকে ৭৬ জন আবেদন করেন। বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (বুয়েট) উপাচার্যের নেতৃত্বে একটি বিশেষজ্ঞ দল যাচাই–বাছাই করে ফারুক আহমেদকে ওই পদের জন্য নির্বাচিত করে।

৪. তিনি ছিলেন ডিএমটিসিএলের প্রধান পদে প্রথম বিশেষজ্ঞ। এর আগে এই পদে শুধু আমলারাই দায়িত্ব পালন করেছিলেন।

৫. ডিএমটিসিএলের এমডি হওয়ার আগে ফারুক আহমেদ ৩৭ বছর বিভিন্ন দেশে বড় অবকাঠামো নির্মাণ ও পরিচালনায় যুক্ত ছিলেন। এর মধ্যে ২৫ বছর ছিলেন মেট্রোরেল ও পরিবহন অবকাঠামো খাতে। তাঁর অস্ট্রেলিয়া, ভারত, সৌদি আরব, সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাত ও হংকংয়ে কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল।

৬. তাঁকে এমন সময় বাদ দেওয়া হলো, যখন তিনি মেট্রোরেল প্রকল্পের ব্যয় কমানোর লক্ষ্যে ঋণদাতা, ঠিকাদার ও পরামর্শকদের চাপে রাখছিলেন।

৭. ফারুক আহমেদ গত বছর ফেব্রুয়ারিতে তিন বছরের জন্য নিয়োগ পেয়েছিলেন। এক বছর পর ফারুক আহমেদের নিয়োগ বাতিল করে সরকার।

৮. ডিএমটিসিএলের এমডি পদে সড়ক পরিবহন মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব আনিসুর রহমানকে মঙ্গলবার অতিরিক্ত দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে।

৯. এ নিয়োগের মাধ্যমে ইঙ্গিত পাওয়া যায় যে ডিএমটিসিএলের মতো একটি বিশেষায়িত প্রতিষ্ঠান আবারও আমলাদের দিয়ে পরিচালনা করা হবে।

১০. গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের সময় ভাঙচুর হয় মেট্রোরেলের মিরপুর ১০ ও কাজীপাড়া স্টেশনে। ক্ষমতাচ্যুত হওয়ার আগে আওয়ামী লীগ সরকার বলেছিল, দুটি স্টেশন চালু করতে এক বছর সময় লাগতে পারে। খরচ হতে পারে ৩৫০ কোটি টাকার মতো।

১১. স্টেশন দুটি কীভাবে দ্রুত চালু করা যায়, সেই বিষয়ে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের আমলে ফারুক আহমেদের পরামর্শ নিয়েছিল ডিএমটিসিএল (এমডি পদে নিয়োগের আগে)। তাঁর পরামর্শে প্রাথমিকভাবে অন্য স্টেশন ও স্থাপনা থেকে কিছু সরঞ্জাম স্থানান্তর এবং স্থানীয়ভাবে কিছু পণ্য কিনে তিন মাসের মধ্যে দুটি স্টেশন চালু করা হয়। খরচ হয় দুই কোটি টাকারও কম।

১২. মেট্রোরেলের মতিঝিল থেকে কমলাপুর অংশে রেললাইন, বৈদ্যুতিক ও সংকেতব্যবস্থা স্থাপনসহ অন্যান্য কাজে ঠিকাদার নিয়োগ দর-কষাকষি করে ফারুক আহমেদ ব্যয় ৪৬৫ কোটি টাকায় নামাতে সমর্থ হন। সাশ্রয় হয় ১৬৯ কোটি টাকা।

১৩. ফারুক আহমেদের নেতৃত্বাধীন ডিএমটিসিএল উত্তরা-মতিঝিল পর্যন্ত মেট্রোরেল লাইনে ৪৫ ধরনের ত্রুটি ও ঘাটতি খুঁজে পায়। জাপানি ঠিকাদারকে চাপ দিয়ে কিছু ত্রুটি সারাতে সক্ষম হয় ডিএমটিসিএল। কিছু এখনো রয়ে গেছে। অনেক সরঞ্জাম শর্ত অনুযায়ী দেয়নি ঠিকাদার। সেগুলোও আদায় করার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়। এর মধ্যেই ডিএমটিসিএলের নেতৃত্বে পরিবর্তন আনল সরকার।

১৮ জুলাই উত্তরার অবস্থা তখন ভয়ানক। ইতিমধ্যে তানভীন, শাকিল পারভেজ সহ বেশ কয়েকজন শহীদ হয়ে গিয়েছে। পুলিশ অনাবরত লাইভ বুলেট, টিয়ারশেল মারছে। ঠিক সে সময় আজমপুর ওভারব্রিজের উপর উঠে এক মহীয়সী নারী। চ্যানেল টুয়েন্টি ফোরের সাংবাদিক।

জীবনের ১% নিশ্চয়তা নেই যেখানে, সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে লাইভে চলে গেলেন। সারাদেশের মানুষ চ্যানেল ২৪ এ- দেখতে থাকলো উত্তরায় কি ভয়ানক হত্যাযজ্ঞ চলছে। তাকে থামাতে বারবার গুলি ছুড়তে থাকলো। হঠাৎ একটি বুলেট তার পায়জামা ভেদ করে ওভারব্রিজের স্টিলে লেগে পায়ের কাছেই ফেরত আসলো।

থেমে যাননি সেখানে। সেই বুলেট হাতে নিয়ে লাইভেই দেখালেন আর বলতে থাকলেন কিভাবে তাকে লক্ষ্য করে গুলিটা ছোড়া হয়েছে। সাথেসাথেই বন্ধ হয়ে যায় চ্যানেল ২৪ এর সম্প্রচার। ৩৫ মিনিট সম্প্রচার বন্ধ ও থাকে।

শুধু ১৮ জুলাই নয়, কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলনের ডে ওয়ান থেকে ৩৬ জুলাই পর্যন্ত - তিনি ছিলেন রাজপথে, ছড়িয়েছেন এই আন্দোলনকে, আন্দোলনের স্পিরিটকে।

নির্ভীক সাংবাদিক জুমাতুল বিদার প্রতি মে দিবসে রইলো গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও অনন্ত কৃতজ্ঞতা—যিনি জুলাইয়ের দিনগুলোতে রাজপথে দাঁড়িয়ে সত্যের পক্ষে লড়াই করেছেন।

He says a journalist from Republic Bharat, an Indian Hindi television channel, asked him about his touring experience in Kashmir. He told that journalist that he was overwhelmingly satisfied with the hospitality and service Muslims extended towards his family in Kashmir.

Then the journalist urged him to say something “negative”, or say that he did not get any help or support from local Muslims after the Pahalgam incident. He asked the journalist why he would tell a lie about the Kashmiri Muslims when he found them extraordinarily hospitable. The tourist said that he would speak only the truth.

In recent years, India’s “Godi Media” — media outlets that work as mouthpieces of the BJP — has been engaged in producing false reports in support of Narendra Modi’s government.

These Godi media outlets fabricated many reports a few months ago, falsely claiming that Islamists were torturing Hindus in Bangladesh after the ouster of Sheikh Hasina. Some of the Indian Godi media journalists got caught while they were trying to teach some Bangladeshis to give false testimonies about the situation in Bangladesh, in front of the camera.

However, we stayed alert and did not let the false campaign by the Indian Godi media gain ground. We succeeded in thwarting their propaganda completely.

Recently, two members of the @BSF_India crossed the international border into Bangladesh with their weapons and tried to detain Bangladeshi farmers.

The @BGB_GOV_BD camp near the scene was quickly informed, and BGB personnel rushed to the spot.

General public and BGB personnel caught the two BSF soldiers, armed, in this manner. Subsequently, as they apologized, they were handed over to the BSF authorities following proper procedures.

অনুসন্ধানে জানা যায়, বিসিবির বর্তমান সভাপতি ফারুক আহমেদের সাথে বিশেষ সখ‍্যতা রয়েছে নারায়ণগঞ্জের চিহ্নিত ভূমিদস্যু ও ওসমান পরিবার ঘনিষ্ঠ এসএম রানা'র। দু'জনকে একসাথে কয়েকটি ম‍্যাচেও দেখা যায়। বৈষম্য বিরোধী আন্দোলনের সময় নারায়ণগঞ্জ ক্লাবের সামনে আন্দোলনকারীদের উদ্দেশ্যে করে গুলিবর্ষণ এবং হামলা, গুম-খুনের অভিযোগ রয়েছে এই রানার বিরুদ্ধে (নারায়ণগঞ্জ সদর ও ফতুল্লা মডেল থানায় রানা'র মামলার নং যথাক্রমে ১২/২৭-০৮-২৪ এবং মামলা নং ১৮ -২২-আগস্ট -২০২৪)।

জানা যায় ফারুকের সরাসরি নির্দেশে এসএম রানা'কে বিসিবি অফিসিয়াল হিসেবে দেখিয়ে রেডিসন হোটেলে ৩০ অক্টোবর - ১ নভেম্বর ২০২৪ দু'রাত রাখা হয়, যার খরচও বহন করে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড। আবার একই ব্যক্তিকে বিমানের টিকিটও দেয় বিসিবি। আর এই সকল ঘটনা ঘটে যখন এস এম রানা একজন ফিউজিটিভ।

পরবর্তীতে এসএম রানাকে ১৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৫ হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর থেকে গ্রেপ্তার করে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী। ১৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি দুপুরে দুবাই যাওয়ার চেষ্টাকালে তাকে আটক করা হয়। এবং পরে তাকে নারায়ণগঞ্জ পুলিশ ব্যুরো অব ইনভেস্টিগেশন (পিবিআই) কার্যালয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।

শামীম ওসমান ও তার শ্যালক তানভির রহমান টিটু-এর ছাত্রছায়ায় থেকে জমি দখল, চাঁদাবাজি, লুটতরাজ, গুম-খুন ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন অপরাধের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত ছিলো এস এম রানা।

বিসিবি সভাপতি ফারুক আহমেদ — কেন এসএম রানার মতো একজন অপরাধীকে ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের অর্থে আতিথেয়তা প্রদান করলেন? আর কি উদ্দেশ্যে তাকে বিসিবি অফিসিয়াল হিসেবে উল্লেখ করা হলো?
