Lagos Real Estate Industry Is Armed R%bbery — Media Personality Frank Edoho Slams Unreasonable Cost of Luxury Homes

Media personality Frank Edoho has criticised the soaring cost of luxury homes in Nigeria, describing the country’s real estate market as “armed r%bbery.”

Speaking on a recent episode of The HK Show, Edoho argued that property prices have become disconnected from the economic realities of ordinary Nigerians.

Drawing a comparison with international real estate, he said: “Leonardo DiCaprio owns an island. The whole island costs $1.7 million. There’s a house in Osapa they call a mansion, and it’s $1.5 million (about ₦2.4 billion). Osapa that has no drainage. What are we talking about? It’s armed r%bbery.”

He questioned who can afford such expensive properties in a country battling economic hardship. “Look at the minimum wage. Is it up to ₦100,000? The economy is down.

“Dollar, how much is the dollar to the naira? Where are these people getting the money? Who is buying? the pastors, the yahoo boys?” He questioned.

Edoho also challenged developers about the identity of their clientele, asking whether they were government officials, pastors, internet fr@udsters, or Nigerians in the diaspora, insisting that the pricing of luxury homes does not reflect the country’s economic reality.
