Thank you so much for your welcoming words and great interactions! Wonderful sunny days in Florida with Dr Boot, Dr Charness, and all the team. I'm really happy to visit you! @FloridaState@CREATE_Center ๐ ๐ง๐ท ๐บ๐ฒ
I like Christopher Nolan movies and would love to see Oppenheimer in a theater, but as someone who was born in Nagasaki, grew up praying in silence every August 9, and now lives in the U.S. for research, I have yet to find the courage to see it because it would be too complicated
Do we have regulatory norms preventing a whole collection of real people data from being closed for education/research? Deidentified collectively produced info turned into product/service, using collective intelligence, should discussed. How to define what is proprietary/public?
@CorriveauNick @eigen_fun I see it as the main non proprietary identifier/identity tech for researchers use for now, Nick. Will it be the de facto standard for that, or another one would emerge? My shot is that this one and other IDs are not into broader adoption maybe for commercial reasons.
@eigen_fun @CorriveauNick Bad and goods within all that. But, I do also think that it can make things clear beyond proprietary software. Tech companies do use SSO technologies to sign for documents and I see ORCID evolving in this direction. https://t.co/AvCxMroFA8
@eigen_fun @CorriveauNick Identifiers seem important, and many people have similar identities, which are hard to track and subject to falsified records. In Brazil, there is an unified "mandatory CV format" (ORCID-linked). From my understanding, this is mainly for universities and funders to track things.
