Year 2's Ancient Egyptian Day overflowed with enthusiasm. Costumed kids paraded, built a pyramid, and hands-on papyrus and sarcophagus making. Highlight: cracking hieroglyphic codes in a scavenger hunt. Students' cultural appreciation made it a memorably enriching experience.✨

Each Year 5 class has begun a partnership with a buddy class from Year 2. Year 5 children support and teach their Year 2 buddies decoding and comprehension strategies, while learning empathy, patience and social responsibility themselves.

Today we had a very special guest who visited our three campuses and gave us a wonderful lion dancing performance. Our students and teachers also gave us a range of fantastic performances including dragon dance, singing and dancing. We wish all of you a happy new year of Rabbit!

Today was my first day of my new Y2 role in Hong Kong! ✈️

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve moved my entire life across the world.

My Y2 class absolutely LOVED using the @Novel_Effect free trial for story time today! You simply read aloud and the app listens to your voice and adds sound effects. There are so many books to choose from. My class were bursting excitement 📚📖🎊

The Reading Tent on World Book Day was so much fun! Their little faces whilst reading their stories was delightful📚

My key takeaway was looking for books which promote questioning and expand understanding 🎉☺️

🌻🌷Another addition to our KS1 library make over! Our new shelves provide an exciting opportunity for teachers to share brilliant, diverse and insightful story time books to read aloud in class. Pupils also have the option to accessibly choose their daily class reader!🌼🌹

Having the books directly under displays was also suggested.

Shout out to Get Hounslow Reading project for recommending turning the books forward facing to reduce cognitive load! It’s a great way if you do not have alternative places to store books. 📚📖
