This was the first class I've had to create a twitter account for. I really enjoyed discussing with all of you about #educ307 !!! It truly did enhance the learning process.
I was just speaking with my friend today about how we miss the excitement of buying magazines! I rarely ever buy magazines anymore because I've already heard of everything they feature on the internet already! #lesson12
My brother and I always used to sing the "savages" song from Pocahontas and of course I never knew how wrong that song actually was... Just goes to show how easy it is to manipulate children into believing certain things
On the other hand, Mickey Mouse Monopoly was eye opening and made me realize so many things in many different Disney movies that I never realized before
I really do feel like the Mickey Mouse Monopoly documentary analyzes Disney films a little too deeply. It has to be kept in mind that the majority of those films were made when women were not as independent and racism occurred more often.
I think it's great that celebrities like Patricia Arquette (during her acceptance speech at the Oscar's) are using their platforms to raise awareness for such important issues regarding feminism
Lesson 10 really made me realize how lucky I am to be a female living in Canada, considering all the rights that I have compared to many women living in other countries across the world.
@sandragirgis6 Can you imagine if someone in Montreal was questioned like that? I'm sure we'd hear about it all over the news. Crazy how different the rules & regulations are from society to society
