New pre-print with @AlanLangus ✨ we claim that spontaneous pupillary synchrony to auditory stimuli can be a way to explore speech perception & segmentation as speech unfolds. Find it in "Rhythms of Speech and Language", editors @AntjeStrau @LanguageCycles https://t.co/4bBQr0TL3T
In oral session 10, we learned about the infant talker bias (Nicola Phillips), infant’s sensitivity to sonority sequencing (Natalie Boll-Avetisyan), and a computational model of how infants find words (Daniel Swingley).
New paper with @mireia__marimon We show that when prosodic and statistical cues are in conflict, German-learning 6-mo rely on prosody. Unlike English infants, German infants show no segmentation with statistical cues at all! https://t.co/oh9wiC2dB3
So glad our paper with @amandasaksida was acknowledged as the paper of the month by the Research Area Cognitive Sciences at U. Potsdam. @CogSciUP https://t.co/rOVGhXFfL2
Do babies get that flipping a switch causes the Christmas tree to light up?
Now out in @PNASNews, we explore how infants conceive the causal power of objects, agents and tools. With @parvanehadib@BabyLyon11@ISC_MJ@CNRS_dr07@CNRS@UnivLyon1

Such a great pleasure to visit @ISC_MJ and one of the most exciting baby labs in the world @BabyLyon11 . Thank you @ljuba_pi and @JR_Hochmann for having me.
Among the good things of this last November: the @ISC_MJ hosted Dr. Alan Langus @AlanLangus who gave a great talk on rhythm as a pervasive feature of human life and cognition, and it’s role in language acquisition in infancy.
Thanks for visiting us Alan!!
In Boston this week for the 48th Annual Boston University Conference on Language Development #BUCLD48. If you are around come check out our talks and poster. @amandasaksida@mireia__marimon @BabylabPotsdam (1/4)
