TRIVIA: Anthony Michael Hall, who had worked with writer/director John Hughes on three previous films, was offered the role of Ferris Bueller but turned it down as he was busy with other projects. Other actors who were considered for the role included Jim Carrey, John Cusack, Jon Cryer, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, and Michael J Fox.
