On the International Day of Sign Languages, under this year’s theme, “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights,” NCRC reaffirms the importance of ensuring that every child can participate fully and have their voice heard on an equal basis.

For deaf children, access to sign language is essential to their ability to communicate, learn, participate and express themselves. Ensuring access to sign language and inclusive environments is therefore fundamental to the full realisation of their rights.
