@benryanwriter @WingsScotland Reading between the lines, it also seems likely that The Guardian had a good look at Jason Arday sometime around September last year (at his own request?). My guess is that they uncovered the stuff (CCTV, pig’s head) that they used when this blew up, but sat on it at the time.

@rebecca_wh50893 @MForstater I don’t think the name of the field is too important - it’s the entries considered valid that matter. ‘Gender’ has been used to mean sex since at least Victorian times, so it’s a safe bet that there’s plenty of DBs with fields named as gender containing only Ms and Fs.

@tylerblack32 @thepearjoseph I don’t know if you are being deliberately obtuse. By your own definitions, you are talking about a mismatch between gender expression and gender as the contingent societal construct. The only “mismatch” with biological sex comes when people claim to have actually changed sex.
