I was at the crash site the morning Eric Hurley lost his life in what was a tragic and preventable event. So to see this flag raised today to honor him and fellow Watervliet employees who have passed is a humbling experience. It reaffirms our commitment to our victims.

A big congratulations to our newest ADAs, Schuyler Carr and Laura Kripka, who will be assigned to Albany City Court. They were accompanied today by their family and our Chief ADA Joe Meany as they signed the Oaths of Appointed Officials and received their badge.

Excited to welcome a new roster of summer interns into the office today. Our Chief ADA Joe Meany, once an intern in this very office just two decades ago, made it clear to the students - they will learn a lot in a short amount of time as they serve to enhance public safety.

Our newly formed Restorative Justice Bureau is dedicated to diverting people away from the criminal justice system, so it just made sense to re-establish Legal Lives as a way to reach youth and educate them about the perils of crime.

It was a pleasure and an honor to host nearly 200 City School District of Albany students at 6 Lodge today as we culminated 35 weeks of our Legal Lives curriculum.
It's designed to enhance students' understanding of the law and seeks to prevent juvenile delinquency.
