Congratulations to my dear student Sabirin Hassan Omar, who graduated today from Horn of Africa University in Mogadishu! 🎉
As a teacher, I am aware of the hardships and struggles Sabirin Hassan has gone through to reach this level. It’s heartwarming to see her fulfil her dreams, and I look forward to celebrating her joy and happiness one day.
Every teacher is happy when they see their students reaping the fruits of their efforts, and I was especially touched by the feeling of happiness that this event carried.
I would like to express my gratitude to the management and teachers who played a significant role in helping Sabirin graduate from the first level of education. I hope you will continue supporting her as she progress through the other levels of the educational process.
I stand by you with everything I can, and I believe that you can achieve great success in your life.
Congratulations once again! 🎉🎉🎉

Former Director of the Disability Directorate @TheVillaSomalia Mr. Abdirahman Farah (Luunge) gave an important speech entitled "Access to Education for Students with special educational needs" at the National Education Conference at Jazeera Hotel #NECSomalia2023#LeaveNoOneBehind
Following Somalia’s National Education Conference in Mogadishu earlier today, the President stressed the importance of delivering inclusive and quality education for #Somalia’s children, and reaffirmed full commitment to help transform Somalia’s education sector and achieve #SDG4
Thank you for being a source of inspiration & hope, Ifrah fighting relentlessly & unapologetically to protect girls against FGM #phenomenalwomen
Without doubt education is the only real measure of a nation’s capacity, strength and potential. In #Somalia we must review and revive our education to serve our developmental aspirations.

"There is a universal respect and even admiration for those who are humble and simple by nature, and who have absolute confidence in all human beings irrespective of their social status.”

Teachers in the maintstream education system require as much training when dealing with children with disabilities, providing the awareness and spaces for the teachers to acquire the needed skills is a challenge that needs solving. #LeaveNoOneBehind#DiversityandInclusion
Some policies really make life difficult for #refugees. I am committed to see a better integration of persons with disabilities who are returnees in our country. We should be committed to champion for their rights as well. #LeaveNoOneBehind @MoHADM_Somalia @UNHCRSom@hon_khadija
It was wonderful to reconnect with Dr. Marangu Njogu, CEO Windle International and his team. He educated and mentored a generation of refugees in the Dadaab Camps in Kenya. Great to learn he is still involved in education work in the region.
This is @albasiirschool for the Blind based in Waberi District, Banadir region of Somalia and receives support from Banadir regional administration and Somali well wishers NOT #Hormuud. Thanks @voasomali team for visiting us. @moechesomalia@OFilish @AWGBanaadir
@gabowduale@MohamedMHaji@hodansomali Perhaps planning for education (human minds) is more complex than solar streetlight installation. How do more classrooms, chalks etc help when physcial contact is disrupted by C-19? e-learning is where Somalia is to be in the medium term and the journey has just strated.
