Danielle Smith led the fight for a West Coast pipeline when others said it couldn't be done. Now it's being fast-tracked, a historic win for Alberta workers and families!
Support for pipelines has never been higher, yet Alberta's NDP MLAs are still standing in the way...
Naheed Nenshi called it "pipe dream."
David Eggen demanded "no new approvals" for oilsands projects and called the oilsands a "catastrophe."
Joe Ceci spoke of a "fossil-free future."
Lorne Dach said Alberta should lead the "transition away from fossil fuels."
Gurinder Brar said pipelines are "very dangerous."
Brooks Arcand-Paul opposed TMX.
Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse opposed Coastal GasLink and supported anti-TMX protesters.
David Shepherd said "part of the problem" in Alberta is that one of our biggest businesses is based in oil.
Janis Irwin advocated for Extinction Rebellion in Alberta classrooms.
Marie Renaud reacted to an "I Love Oil & Gas" shirt with a puke emoji.
Canadians are saying yes, and Danielle Smith is delivering. Why is Alberta's NDP saying no?
“Albertans expect public institutions to hire and promote the best qualified people and ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to succeed based on their skills, experience and qualifications,” Smith told reporters in Edmonton.
“These changes will help to ensure that fairness is at the heart of hiring.”
Alberta supports Conservative MP David McKenzie’s Bill C-264 to repeal the federal Oil Tanker Moratorium Act and remove barriers preventing our responsibly produced energy from reaching global markets. Repealing the ban would open the door to crude-by-rail exports through Prince Rupert, giving Alberta another route to reach customers around the world.
Our oil to the United States is selling at a significant discount at a disadvantage to the entire country. The only effective way to close that gap is to increase exports off our western coast and get more customers competing for our energy. For decades, limited access to tidewater has left Alberta heavily dependent on a single customer, putting our oil at a competitive disadvantage and reducing the value of our resources.
The Trans Mountain Expansion has helped open new markets, particularly in Asia, but we need more pipelines and more access to tidewater. Pacific Link will help increase our export capacity, but we also need to remove the federal tanker ban to unlock opportunities through Prince Rupert. Global demand for energy continues to grow, and Alberta has the resources to help meet it.
Alberta holds the fourth-largest proven oil reserves in the world, and developing those resources benefits all Canadians. They help fund hospitals, schools, critical infrastructure and social programs across the country, while creating long-term economic opportunities for Indigenous communities through investment and co-ownership in major projects.
Canada cannot become a global energy superpower while federal policies continue to stand in the way of getting our energy to the world. Repealing the tanker ban is an important step toward securing better prices for our resources and building a stronger, more prosperous Canada.
Congratulations to Lorne Doerksen @LDoerkson on becoming the next Premier of British Columbia.
Alberta and British Columbia share strong economic ties and common interests, from trade and energy to transportation and economic growth. I look forward to working with Premier designate Doerksen on shared priorities and advancing the interests of people in both provinces, including unleashing Canada’s potential as an energy superpower.
I also want to acknowledge David Eby @Dave_Eby for his service as Premier. While we did not always see eye to eye, I appreciated the opportunity to work together on issues important to both provinces.
🔥 Huge turnout door-knocking Nottingham! Great response at the doors. The UCP is delivering! Let’s win Sherwood Park in 2027 so I can get our hospital expansion across the finish line! 💪🏻

We’re pleased to announce that UCP members have selected Parker Royer as our candidate in Edmonton-North West for the next election.
Parker served five years in the Canadian Armed Forces and is now finishing his business degree at NAIT. Born and raised in Edmonton, he’s the son of a pipefitter in a building trades family. His grandparents built the second house in Caernarvon. He learned early to do the job right, and that’s how he’ll represent Edmonton-North West.
We’re glad to have him on our team, ready to get the job done for Albertans.
Had a great conversation with Bob Stauffer about infill in Edmonton, what reasonable growth looks like and where it has gone too far.
Give it a listen 👇
Respiratory virus season is here, and Alberta’s hospitals are ready.

We're pleased to announce that UCP members have selected @ErinAverbukh4AB as our candidate in Calgary-Acadia for the next election.
A longtime southeast Calgary resident, Erin has spent more than 30 years in business. She's supported senior executives with Petro-Canada and TELUS Mobility, helping coordinate national projects. As a project manager and business owner, she's worked on everything from home renovations to commercial build-outs.
We're glad to have her on our team, ready to get the job done for Albertans.
Premier Danielle Smith had no problem correcting the CBC.
The Alberta NDP and Federal NDP, under their very own constitution, are the same party.
The extreme anti-Alberta policies of Avi Lewis are Naheed Nenshi’s.
Avi Lewis is Naheed Nenshi’s boss.
I hope every UCP member and supporter will watch this video.
The referendum is behind us. Albertans gave their answers and our party must honour that mandate.
What comes next is the only fight that matters, and it is twelve months away.
Naheed Nenshi's NDP have told us exactly what they will do with power:
🟠 Reopen the drug consumption sites we closed
🟠 Let minors undergo irreversible gender surgeries without their parents' knowledge.
🟠 Shut down school choice.
🟠 Bring back the production cap and the net zero regulations to phase out our energy sector.
🟠 Open border immigration.
🟠 A carbon tax.
🟠 And Avi Lewis in Ottawa pulling Nenshi’s strings.
United, our party will win. Divided the NDP wins and all Albertans would suffer as a result.
The time for division is over.
The time to unite and fight for a stronger Alberta and Canada is now.
Tonight at 6:45, join me live for a province wide address to Albertans on the results of yesterday's referendum and what comes next for our province. https://t.co/bSfgfjvWuP
Albertans picked up a pencil yesterday and answered ten hard questions about our future.
That is democracy at its finest and tonight we talk about what comes next.
Join me live on CTV, Global, CityNews, Facebook, X or YouTube at 6:45pm— as we go through the referendum results, what they mean for this province, and what comes next.

Today you have a ballot in front of you.
“Yes to the Nine” means Alberta gets a real say over our own immigration, so growth matches the housing, schools and hospitals we have to support it. It means temporary programs contribute to the services they use. It means constitutional reforms that protect this province's authority no matter who sits in Ottawa.
Vote today.
✅ Vote for a stronger Alberta within a united Canada.
✅ Vote yes to the nine.
It cannot be understated: our broken immigration system has caused high unemployment, high home prices and high inflation. It must be fixed and provincial rights strengthened.
Today, the Prime Minister got a copy of our referendum questions including the 9 on immigration and constitutional reforms. If Albertans give us a strong mandate on these questions, our government will get right to work on these needed reforms.
And as I’ve said many times, please vote for Option 1, a strong Alberta within a united Canada, and yes to the rest! 🍁
Responsible growth means taking a commonsense approach to development. High-density infill policy in our major cities has had consequences no one intended, but need to be addressed. That’s why the Government of Alberta is bringing in a pause and a reset when it comes to high-density infill.
Neighbours and families deserve predictability and livable communities that have reasonable plans for traffic congestion, parking, municipal services and development scaled to existing homes.
A pause and a reset provides an opportunity for us to build communities that keep up with population growth without pitting neighbour against neighbour.
I will work collaboratively with municipalities to ensure the approach to high-density infill is balanced with growth and communities that respect our neighbourhoods.
