“During covid” is right now.
“During covid” is right now.
“During covid” is right now.
“During covid” is right now.
“During covid” is right now.
“During covid” is right now.
@KaliButterfly I will say, I got shingles during a wildly stressful period of my life in 2018 and the doctor promised that if my stress got out of control like that again, I'd get shingles again. I haven't, and I have not. So it's a real thing, pre covid too.
Having a teacher-librarian in every school, with all their training and expertise and *trusting the professionals* would have made this ministerial order unnecessary in the first place.
This is not saying “brain damage makes you evil.”
It’s saying that certain kinds of neural injury, especially to the frontal lobe, make people less able to regulate behavior that protects others and themselves.
That is NOT ableism. That is neurology.
We know from history:
- Lead exposure increased aggression and crime
-Parasites like toxoplasmosis change risk perception
- Brain injury can alter ideology, emotional control, and even voting behaviour
Why wouldn’t covid, a virus that damages the brain, be doing the same?
@esjesjesj @OlyaKarLott A lot of conservatives don't want sex ed because they don't want the kids they abuse to have the knowledge that it's wrong, or the language to speak up for themselves. It's a self report.
Stop funding private and charter schools. One of these private schools just purchased a parcel of land for a campus that will have indoor running tracks, baseball diamonds and a massive clubhouse. Must be nice to have that AND the ability to protest a public school next door /6
@IsDrainBamaged@krassenstein The United States is punching themselves in the face you idiot. Not the citizens, but Trump and the POTUS, Elon Musk, are punching us in the face. If you can't see that Trump started a trade war for no f'ing reason, other than the hard on he gets, you're delusional.
Love how an article that basically says we've been right about everything still finds a way to smear Covid realists.
Sorry about raising the alarm about the literal pandemic being ignored 🙃
Therapists will be like “Yeah I know how to treat mental illness” and then only know how to treat irrational thinking, having no idea how to help people whose mental illness is actually a reasonable and proportional response to objective reality
Semester after semester, I'm the lone masker in my classrooms.
Students see me mask consistently, never ill, never absent.
They are constantly sick, missing classes, sending me medical excuses.
The dots remain unconnected...
They say to teach by example. I do. Anyway... 🙄
My feed is 100% mass disease & premature death, with a smattering of “positive content” thrown in for good measure.
So it’s like, “We are sick & dying, flu, flu, Covid, flu, WATCH THIS KITTEN, bird flu, HMPV, dead kids, flu, HEARTWARMING MOMENT, kid dies of heart attack, bird flu, mystery illness, dead students, dead teachers, unconscious bus drivers, plane crashes, PUPPIES, Covid, flu.”
@hausofhemlock This happens to me all the time - people complain they want to do more and then when given suggestions that are simple, won’t do any. They don’t want to help they just want to alleviate the guilt.
Final note.
I love how there are people out there who don’t seem to grasp what exactly the brain is responsible for.
Insinuating that an individual’s political beliefs are completely unrelated to their cognition, or their brain in any capacity, is utterly illogical.
Neurologist here.
Brain damage/injury can, and does, cause problems w/emotional regulation & lability.
It can diminish empathy, remove inhibitions, and cause significant alterations in personality.
It can make people say/do inappropriate things they otherwise wouldn’t have.
