Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA). Managing Alberta's electronics, paint, tires, and used oil recycling programs, and oversight body for EPR. ♻️
Way to go, #Alberta! Together, we’ve kept thousands of tonnes of electronics and tires, and millions of litres of paint and oil, out of landfills. With the upcoming electronics expansion and the start of EPR next year, we’ll achieve even more. Thank you for keeping Alberta beautiful!

It was great to get a behind-the-scenes tour of CRM’s facility with Minister Hunter. Seeing the recycling process firsthand highlights the innovation driving Alberta’s circular economy… creating jobs, reducing waste, and supporting a greener future.

Alberta is leading the way in the circular economy by turning yesterday’s waste into tomorrow’s infrastructure.
I recently toured the world-class CRM Canada facility in Crossfield to see how we’re transforming millions of scrap tires into new materials and the infrastructure our communities rely on.
Together with @albertarecycle and CRM, we’re building a stronger economy that supports local jobs while protecting our environment.

This morning at the SWANA Northern Lights Chapter 2026 Conference, Gavin Sidhu, Director, Client Relations, EPR, joined the Speaking of Change – What Can We Expect to See with EPR? panel. We were proud to share updates on Alberta’s made-in-Alberta approach, progress over the past year, and what to expect with the upcoming Phase II launch this October.
His comparison of implementing EPR in phases to “eating an elephant one bite at a time” clearly resonated with the audience.

ARMA is at the SWANA Northern Lights Chapter 2026 Conference in Calgary.
As part of our Building With Tires initiative, we’re focused on helping municipalities better understand the opportunities of tire-derived aggregate (TDA)—an engineered material created from end-of-life tires. With its unique properties, TDA is a reliable, versatile solution for a range of civil engineering and environmental applications.
We were proud to support the Re-Treading New Ground panel discussion on TDA and leachate systems, and to connect with partners and peers advancing this work. Thank you to Sina Varamini, Ph.D., P.Eng., CRM, and Triphina Wirth, TSSK, for helping build awareness and fostering connections that support #TDA projects.
